The Opportunity:
Mattel is seeking an Associate Marketing Manager based here at our worldwide headquarters in El Segundo, CA on our Emerging Channels Customer Marketing Team.
What Your Impact Will Be:
* In partnership with Sr Manager, manage customized product strategy for the entire EC shared line (~180 SKUs) and assigned pillar account-specific lines. Includes planning, tracking, and managing requests for Emerging Channels making sure requests forwarded to NAD/GBT marketing teams have a sound reason for being, and product will drive incremental volume via meaningful differentiation
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams on customized product lines for Emerging Channels to achieve overall business goals of both Mattel and the customer
* Via managers leadership, AMM will:
* 1) Develop customized product requests as part of the annual process
* 2) Perform in-depth analysis of customized performance to optimize the line year over year
* 3) Support key customer meetings and participate in customized customer business reviews, translating findings into actionable insights, and developing impactful presentations to deliver fact-based recommendations for future customized product
Pillar Account Management:
* In partnership with the Manager/Sr Manager, develop, socialize, and execute full-year strategic marketing/promotional plans for all Brands on assigned accounts by collaborating with Marketing, Sales, and licensor/outside vendors.
* Develops omnichannel marketing activities & assists in asset/content coordination to positively impact online/in-store sales, profitability and customer experience across the account for all Brands.
* Supports preparation of Planning Meetings with the customer; Responsible for scheduling, materials, and presentations.
* Seeks out new or leverages all possible existing data identify account business opportunities and track omnichannel marketing levers ROI/KPIs
* Completes full analysis of programs throughout their life cycle including development, justification, and expected return based on sales/POS and consumer data, sell-in positioning, and post-program evaluation. Reports out findings to internal and external stakeholders
* Supports the multifunctional sales planning process partnering with Sales Management, Ecommerce teams, Marketing, and Finance to assist in the development of pillar account exclusive product strategies and account strategies.
* Maintains excellent relationships with key account stakeholders to influence and maximize promotional opportunities.
* Maintains accounts non-media budget and is responsible for Internal tracking entries/processes and ROI analysis
What Were Looking For:
* Minimum of 4 years experience (or 2 years, with MBA) in marketing, sales, business planning, category management, or related field.
* Proven Shopper Marketing and/or project management experience, including developing effective promotional calendars, activating sales programs, and measuring results.
* Experience working with top US retailers preferred, but not required
* Possess complex problem-solving techniques/skills
* Excellent analytical and Excel skills necessary for profitability analysis and ROI projections yet also a creative thinker
* Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills necessary to present and communicate critical information and programs to retailers' management, senior management, marketing, sales, and outside vendors.
* Understanding of trade promotion strategies with exceptional planning and organizational skills.
* Strong negotiation skills.
* Team Leader that is able to forge and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders
* Exceptional level of support, service, and teamwork with retailers, sales, marketing, and outside vendors to meet objectives and ensure smooth project management
* Strong knowledge of MS Office with particular emphasis in Excel and Power Point.
