The Team:
The Creative Studios based in East Aurora, NY is a full-service Photo and Video team that manages Content creation including photography, TVCs, digital videos, entertainment content, ecommerce assets, social media assets, web demos and localization, and corporate/PR videos.
The Opportunity:
Mattel is currently seeking an Electronic Imaging Technician in E. Aurora, NY. This role will be responsible for data asset management of photo and video assets as well as managing the storage and distribution of all assets created. This includes the processing of raw images, creating image composites, monitoring color values, overseeing color correction, and managing the upkeep of studio computers and monitors. This role is also charged with the development and implementation of quality control procedures for all digital image production as it relates to image quality, color and exposure accuracy and transfer to proper channels for use by end users. The Electronic Imaging Technician will work directly with the photo/video teams/ packaging designers and be responsible for ensuring that all assets are processed and ingested into MAX.
What Your Impact Will Be:
* Process, archive and upload photography images to packaging designers. Categorize by skus, sub categorize by session.
* Preliminary Product & Packaging Images for Planogram (Spr/Fall GHO); clip, layer, tag with MAX metadata, ingestion into MAX.
* Ingest and tag each asset with MAX required metadata for all video assets from VizLab, record asset ID numbers and notify requestor and eCommerce team. This includes web demos, localizations, closed captioning, and audio description files.
* Manage data on Studio COWs (iMac Capture workstations), isolate saved projects for 90 days in case of data loss.
* Packaging/Ecommerce Production Support: Execute final image requests from package (Pkg) designers (graphic turnover). Create final hi res PSD in Capture One, color correct, tag assets with MAX metadata, route to server for Asia Pkg team in Hong Kong (MOA) and China (MSC.)
* Process virtual imagery to final resolution and convert color space (ICC profile) from sRGB to Adobe 1998 RGB color space and gather into layer groups. Merge with other virtual images and/or human interest images.
* Tag and ingest each ecommerce photo asset with MAX required metadata for all Enhanced A+(above the fold) and Feature callouts(below the fold) and ecommerce web demos.
* QSR(Quote Sheet Readiness) for sales support after GHOs. Ingests product images into MAX; tag with required metadata from pkg team with supporting documentation for sales support.
* Product-In-Package (PIP) and Planogram (POG) final images: create clipping path and remove background with layer mask; tag each asset with MAX required metadata and ingest in MAX.
* Photo Retouching: Provide high quality retouching as needed, utilize Hong Kong vendor for clipping services.
* Assist photographers/videographers with lighting and shot set up as requested.
What Were Looking For:
* Bachelors Degree or equivalent years of experience
* 5+ years relevant experience in asset data management, understanding of lighting, image quality, composite imagery, color control and balance.
* Strong Technical skills and proficiency in Capture One, Adobe Creative Suite, DAM (Digital Asset Management)
* Intermediate to advanced retouching skills (proficient in retouching product, environmental, beauty, and conceptual images)
