Andalusia Health
Functions under the supervision of the physician
Greet patients with positive attitude and sense of urgency
Accurately Pre-register patients timely and efficiently
Recognize potential emergency conditions
Act as a liaison for individuals waiting
Assess and reassess patients for changes in conditions
Maintain good communication with patient access and ED staff
Responsible for timely and accurate patient registrations
Interviews patients for all pertinent and required information meeting compliance regulations
Verifies insurance coverage and accurately enter into the HIS system
Displays confidence and understanding of responsibilities when speaking with customers.
Conveys Managing Up philosophy when speaking with customers.
Provides excellent customer service and patient care in accordance with Paramedic scope of practice..
Provide emergency assessment and treatment
Communicates delays to those waiting
Reassess patients for changes in status
Interviews patients at workstation or at bedside to obtain all necessary account information.
Searches MPI completely to ensure assignment of the correct medical record number.
Notifies medical records for any duplicate medical record number.
Completes Medicare Secondary Payer Questionnaire as applicable adding required occurrence and condition codes.
Verifies all insurance information using system and method provided.
Obtains all necessary signatures timely and communicates issues if unable to acquire to appropriate department.
Documents clearly and concisely all information necessary to communicate account information to others for follow up and patient satisfaction.
Understands individual and departmental Special Processes:
Disaster Process
Code Pink/ MP Code/ Code Adam/ Rapid Response
Able to provide Information and Direction for Specialty Situations
TDD/TTY location and use
Language Line-How and when to use, provide language selection menu.
Demonstrates knowledge of occurrence reporting system
Practices and adheres to the Code of Conduct.
Follows facility Mission and Vision Statement
Adheres to HSC/Hospital Policies and Procedures.
Adheres to AIDET/ HIPPA/ EMTALA
Understand, deliver and follow Security Codes processes:
How to call on Overhead Intercom
How to call on Radio

Job Requirements
Minimum Education
High School Diploma or Equivalent required
Required Licenses
[Alabama, United States] Paramedic
Active Alabama Paramedic License
Required Skills
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

BLS
