Job Description

At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As a Cyber Policy Analyst supporting Department of State. In this role, a typical day will include:
* Ability to translate complex, technical IT terms into digestible information for users with varying levels of cybersecurity awareness
* Plan and execute high-profile industry events and attend conferences and events
* Recommend innovative solutions for strategic communication campaigns, events, and outreach
* Monitor and analyze Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) to identify security issues for remediation.
* Assist with developing and executing strategic communications initiatives including: identifying target audiences; developing core and key messaging; developing high-quality materials; and assisting with tracking program metrics and developing reports for leadership
* Design, write, produce, and distribute communications materials to include: targeted emails, fact sheets, bulletins, posters, newsletters, FAQs, website content, social media content, intranet advertisements, magazine and blog articles, briefings, online training content, talking points, and video scripts
* Provide and maintain public relations with key stakeholders, DoS leadership, and external partners
* Recognize potential, successful, and unsuccessful intrusion attempts and compromises thorough reviews and analyses of relevant event detail and summary information.
* Evaluate firewall change requests and assess organizational risk.
* Communicate alerts to agencies regarding intrusions and compromises to their network infrastructure, applications and operating systems.
* Assist with implementation of counter-measures or mitigating controls.
* Conduct regular audits to ensure that systems are being operated securely, and information systems security policies and procedures are being implemented as defined in security plans.
* Develop, test, and operate firewalls, intrusion detection systems, enterprise anti-virus systems and software deployment tools. Safeguard the network
against unauthorized infiltration, modification, destruction or disclosure.
* Research, evaluate, test, and implement new security software or devices.
* Conduct routine investigations of information systems security violations and incidents, report as necessary to management.
* Implement, enforce, communicate and develop security policies or plans for data, software applications, hardware, telecommunications and information systems security education/awareness programs.
* Ensure the integrity and protection of networks, systems, and applications by technical enforcement of organizational security policies, through monitoring of vulnerability scanning devices.
* Perform periodic and on-demand system audits and vulnerability assessments, including user accounts, application access, file system and external Web integrity scans to determine compliance.
* Prepare incident reports of analysis methodology and results.
* Ensure compliance with regulations and privacy laws.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
* BA/BS (or equivalent experience),
* 3+ years of experience
* Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills to effectively relate to agency and customer needs; ability to build working relationships with leaders and key stakeholders
* Active Secret Security clearance
