Job Description

GDIT Technology Shared Services (TSS) is seeking an Elastic Engineer to support a US Air Force program that is playing a major role in strengthening and modernizing America's Strategic Deterrent Force. GDIT will develop and deliver a digital engineering design solution which enables and integrates the program's complete set of data, tools, and model-based systems engineering (MBSE) activities, and makes them available to internal and appropriate external engineering and programmatic stakeholders throughout the program's lifecycle. This effort will culminate in an abstracted, highly transportable Digital Engineering Environment (DEE) delivered to the Government, to be instantiated virtually on the Government's network infrastructure and updated during the Engineering and Manufacturing Development (EMD) phase of weapon system development.

Duties:
* Design, implement, test, and support Elastic Stak solutions
* Teach and mentor other team members in the disciplines and techniques with which you excel
* Build customer confidence and trust by delivering working software on time and often
* Bring an innovative, always learning, agile/lean mindset to the team
* Work closely with others to determine requirements

Required Qualificatios:
* BA/BS in Computer Science or similar discipline
* 2+ years of experience working with Elastic tools (elasticsearch, fluentd/log stash, kabana)
* Strong experience with Linux
* Strong experience with ETL
* Knowledge of reindexing and data mappings
* Knowledge of JSON and KQL searching syntax
* Strong experience with at least one modern, object-oriented language
* Strong experience with databases
* Agile/Lean mindset
* Scrum, Kanban, or SAFe experience
* Experience with automated configuration management tools and playbooks
* Experience working in a DevSecOps environment and with Elastic on Kubernetes in particular
* Capable of obtaining and maintaining a DOD Secret clearance

Preferred Skills:
* Experience implementing Elastic as SIEM

The likely salary range for this position is $60,000 - $90,000, this is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary; rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
