Southern Industrial is looking for a maintenance planner for a site in Batesville, MS. This is a local, 40 hour per week, no per diem position.
Support the site maintenance group by developing job plans and providing supplementary services in scheduling and work order management. It is expected that approximately 70% of this position will be spent working with documentation and computers in an office environment. The position requires excellent technical, analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Essential Functions/Duties:
* Plan future maintenance work to reduce potential delays and maximize maintenance workforce productivity
* Develop work plans based upon work request and field inspection of the work site when work plan does not exist for equipment
* Identify and co-ordinate necessary resources, with sufficient lead time prior to the start of the work to ensure those resources can be scheduled for efficient execution of work. Resources may include: Work scope and job instructions, technical information, MRO parts and materials, special tools and equipment, special permitting, minimum skill levels and quantity of human resources required, production operating conditions
* Estimate man-hours required by skill and work duration
* Reserve or procure critical parts and materials required (as appropriate). Arrange staging / kitting of parts and materials (as appropriate)
* Procure required outside services
* Weekly provide a list of approved and planned maintenance work to be executed the following week
* Code and review work requests
* Review equipment history on approved corrective work orders. Identify situations with repeat failures. Identify problem situations for resolution
* Close planned work orders. Review actual work effort required, work duration, and parts and materials used. Review comments provided by those involved in work. Revise work plans as needed to improve effectiveness of future work
* Complete all safety (EHS) and general job training as required by SIC
* Attend SIC and/or Customer meetings to provide planning support
* Actively pursue cost savings opportunities for SIC and the Customer
