General Purpose of Job

As the TeleApp Specialist, you will perform and deliver on routine and progressively more non-routine assignments for Lincoln's Life Underwriting & New Business, working independently in accordance with established procedures/guidelines. S/he will conduct interviews of applicants for complex and non-routine life insurance applications via telecommunications in accordance with established procedures and guidelines, in a timely manner and meeting departmental quality/production standards for his/her assigned areas of responsibility. In addition, s/he will enable less experienced team members perform assignments.

The hours for this position are: Monday - Friday 12pm - 9pm Eastern Standard Time.

Duties and Responsibilities

Accurately enters and/or updates complex and non-routine new case applicant information data into appropriate new business system(s).

Communicates in a clear and concise manner to convey complex and non-routine, sensitive or technical information while adhering to HIPAA and corporate privacy guidelines.

Communicates to management on recognized trends of issues and/or concerns.

Completes required professional development in order to maintain active and current state life insurance licenses as appropriate.

Conducts interviews of applicants for complex and non-routine life insurance applications via telecommunications in accordance with established procedures and guidelines, in a timely manner and meeting departmental quality/production standards.

Escalates complex issues/concerns to management.

Examines complex and non-routine life insurance new business documents for completion with a high level of accuracy while meeting department standards and customer expectations.

Makes routine and progressively more non-routine decisions independently, in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.

Meets or exceeds departmental quality and service standards.

Obtains needed life insurance information from internal/external stakeholders as needed.

Performs a diverse range of tasks/transactions related to common programs and services by directly applying expanded knowledge obtained from the role in increasingly more complex situations.

Provides customer service to internal/external stakeholders, recognizes what needs to be done to meet needs and demonstrates flexibility and responsiveness to meet those needs.

Provides timely responses to complex and non-routine life insurance inquiries in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.

Recognizes general issues/concerns and suggests process improvements.

Shares a diverse range of knowledge and information and/or enables less experienced team members to perform his/her assignments.

Shares knowledge with less experienced team members and provides and provides responses and a diverse range of information to team members non-routine life insurance questions without supervision.

Supports and promotes change management and/or departmental/enterprise initiatives within assigned area(s) of responsibility.

Works independently delivering on routine but progressively more non-routine work, in accordance with established procedures and guidelines in a timely manner and meets deadlines appropriately.

Works overtime as needed.

Education

High School diploma or GED or minimum Associate degree in lieu of required experience. - Minimum Required

Experience

3 - 5+ Years of insurance application processing experience aligned with the responsibilities for this position. (Required ),0 - 1+ Years For candidates with an Associate's Degree or above, 0-1 year of insurance application processing experience that directly aligns with the specific responsibilities for this position (Required )
