Manager Plant Engineering

Job Summary

Reporting to the Plant Manager, you will develop overall plant technical strategies focused on engineering, facilities, operations, maintenance, and environmental projects. You will develop vertical startup processes to ensure implementation of low loss production systems, provide solutions to technical problems and recommendations for improvements in production activities and manage the plant technical organization. You will also develop plant specific engineering and maintenance strategies to achieve performance goals. You will create all plant technical expense budgets and works with Corporate Engineering to achieve the capital budget.

Position Responsibilities

* Assist Plant in establishing safety of all our team members as the plant's first objective
* Lead the development of the capital plan including the engagement of related Plant and Corporate functions such as Safety, Sanitation, Quality, Environmental, Operations, Maintenance, and Finance
* Work with the Plant in setting delineated roles, responsibilities and accountabilities consistent with the principles of CPS (Conagra Performance System)
* Foster a team-based problem-solving methodology
* Mentor junior level engineers to help further guide and develop their careers
* Support the plant in driving business literacy through education of essential business issues and concepts
* Work with Platform Engineering Director to resource projects including Engineering Project Manager, SME and Startup Manager roles
* Support the plant in conducting internal systems audits
* Support the plant in providing direction and lead the EM (Early Management) Pillar Team in the development of long- and short-term plans and goals for the plant
* Support the plant in providing project and technical support to the plant and division
* Support the plant in participating on and leading project teams that improve safety, quality, labor relations, sanitation, costs and customer service
* Demonstrate ability to use available application computer programs
* Lead the plant in conducting team meetings for proper communications and development of teams
* Support CPS (Conagra Performance System) through active engagement on the Leadership Pillar, leading the Early Management Pillar, and the Line Structure Teams (DDS coach, operational support, daily Gemba walks)
* Be the Facilities manager ensuring facility assets are maintained, facility issues are addressed, coordinate for systems upgrades across the facility, and serve as the plant security system owner
* Support the PSM (Process Safety Management) team as an active participant is performing the PSM program to Conagra and state/federal standards

Position Qualifications

* Engineering Degree.
* Five years experience in Food Manufacturing in a technical capacity
* Work as a peer and advisor to other departments
* Work rotating shifts, weekends and holidays
* Computer applications skills.
