Job Summary

Responsible for planning and designing new software and web applications. Completes programming and implements, tests and debugs defined software components. Under direction of the Manager of Application Development, this role will participate in development, testing and implementation for the various Comcast customer contact / Care agent desktop tools applications, (for example, online chat) on a primarily Microsoft-based technology stack as part of a collaborative Agile engineering team. The person will be responsible for writing software components using standard Integrated Development Environments (IDEs), writing unit test cases and supporting the Testing and Quality Assurance phases of the software development lifecycle. The candidate will work as part of a team of analysts, developers, 3rd party software vendors, and Comcast management to ensure the successful operation of all interfacing applications.

Core Responsibilities

* Reviews, writes and edits codes. Conducts analysis to determine integration needs.
* Researches, writes and edits documentation and technical requirements, including software design evaluation plans, test results and technical manuals.
* Monitors and evaluates competitive applications and products. Reviews literature, patents and current practices relevant to the solution of assigned projects.
* Works with the Quality Assurance team to determine if applications fit specification and technical requirements.
* Applies full use and application of engineering methodologies related to area of engineering specialty.
* Displays knowledge of engineering concepts and skills and knowledge of their application in the area of specified engineering specialty.
* Displays knowledge of and ability to apply, process design and redesign skills.
* Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
* Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary.
* Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

DUTIES

* Developer role for application development within a full development life cycle of large-scale releases, including new applications and enhancements to existing workflows.

* Work with Solution Designers and lead developers to convert designs and User Stories into tested working code.

* Support acceptance and regression testing of builds and releases.

* Interact as required with external vendors and internal IT development groups to attain technical implementations of business goals.

* Perform other duties as assigned.



QUALIFICATIONS:

* Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related disciplines; extensive, directly related experience may be considered in-lieu of degree(s).

* 2-Plus years preferred experience in application development using Microsoft .NET technology stack tools (C programming language preferred) and IDEs.

* 2-Plus years preferred experience Angular or similar front-end toolsets.

* Experience / familiarity with REST API development and principles

* Experience / familiarity with SOLID design principles.

* Experience / familiarity with general secure coding practices (e.g. CORS, etc.) required.

* Experience / familiarity with Service Oriented Architectures (SOA.)

* Experience in Microsofts Azure Cloud Services a big plus.

* 2-Plus years preferred experience developing complex web projects in a corporate environment on a customer-facing Web site, including performance optimization and attention to security principles.

* 2-Plus years experience with Agile Software Development Life Cycle practices as part of a Scum team.

* Experience in online TFS / VSTS a plus.

* Strong speaking, writing, collaboration, and follow-up skills.

* Ability to work independently and as a team member.

* Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.

* Experience in Cable / Telecom is a plus.
