As a the Robinson Fresh - Category Manager of Grapes, you will be responsible for the development, communication, and execution of the category and supply plan strategy. You will own relationships with grower/shippers as you work to develop, onboard, and execute your supply plan. Operating in a blend of tactical and strategic work, you will impact the business by managing your supply mix, pricing strategies, and workflow to grow and limit risk.
Responsibilities:
* Oversee the day to day management of the category, to include communication, execution, quoting and contract proposals, service level management (of customers and suppliers), and reporting
* Develop a strong supply plan with the right suppliers and strategy to meet the requirements of the customer base and enable the growth and profitability in the category
* Responsible to actively manage a pipeline of new grower/shipper prospects to onboard and customer targets identified in partnership with sales counterparts
* Manage and leverage grower relationships through the grower review process to continually improve performance
* Consistently and effectively educate internal teams about all aspects of the category: varieties, seasonality, growing regions, farming practices and influence yields, quality, supply chain cost components, regulatory compliance, etc.
* Responsible for transactional, promotional, and contract pricing decisions
* Participate in customer meetings when needed as a SME for the category
* Promote innovation within the category, differentiating our offering through packaging, varietals, supply chain efficiencies, etc. to remain relevant and competitive in the marketplace
* Capable of managing people as needed within the category
* Other duties or responsibilities as assigned according to the team and/or country specific requirements
Required Qualifications:
* High school diploma or GED
* Minimum of 3+ years fresh produce experience (in category preferred)
* Ability to travel up to 25% (domestically and internationally)
Preferred Qualifications:
* Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university
* Solid financial acumen
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to make data-driven decisions
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Experienced in negotiation, pricing strategy, and building programs
* Depth of knowledge in the grower/shipper side of the produce industry
* Excellent relationship building skills with customers, growers, and internal teams
* Strong team player who thrives in a collaborative environment
* Recognized as a leader on prior teams
* Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of programs
