The Boeing Company is actively recruiting for a Guidance Navigation and Control Engineer at Hill Air Force Base Utah. This position is for 1st shift. Boeing Defense and Space Systems is growing in the area of aircraft, missile, weapons and autonomous system Guidance Navigation and Control (GN&C) system design, development, integration and test. Flight Engineering is looking for motivated, talented engineers to join the Boeing team in this exciting business area for the Minuteman III Sustainment program. Minuteman has been in service for over 50 supporting the strategic detterrence in the defense of our great nation. Selected candidates will support Sustainment in a wide range of existing and new areas of GN&C, performance analysis and simulation solutions. The selected candidates will have visibility into G&C and simulation methods across the Boeing enterprise. Applicable and appropriate educational/certification credentials from an accredited institution and/or equivalent experience is required.
Position Responsibilities:
* Define mission/trajectory requirements and designs for Guidance, Navigation and Control (GN&C) systems, simulations, models and tools to sustain the Minuteman III system and for new ICBM systems as required.
* Design, analyze and guide others in the development of Guidance, Navigation and Control (GNC) systems, simulations, models & tools
* Lead and perform trade studies to identify design solutions that meet program requirements
* Lead design reviews, analyses, simulations and component / system testing to ensure delivery of products that meet or exceed customer requirements and expectations
* Lead and guide others in the development of GN&C, simulation and related tools and techniques, develop technology roadmaps
* Lead the identification of solutions for and the disposition of delivered product operational / service anomalies and incidents
* Lead new business development efforts
* Train and coach others
This position requires an active Current Secret U.S. Security Clearance. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
* Technical Bachelor's Degree
* 3+ years experience with aircraft, missiles, spacecraft, autonomous platform or similar vehicle in Control Systems or Guidance, Navigation and Control System design
* 2+ years experience or using Matlab/Simulink or MatrixX or similar systems to model systems
* 2+ years experience in computer programming in C, C, C++, Ada or other common programming languages
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
* Experience with simulation and / or system/component modeling
* Experience with Kalman Filter design, estimation techniques
* Experience with implementing algorithms in real time systems
* Experience with autocoding of software
Typical Education/Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
