The Boeing Company is seeking out an Associate Air Breathing Propulsion Engineer to support propulsion system design and analysis as part of its flight science team in the St. Louis area.
Main area of focus will be in the Air Breathing Propulsion System Support and Analysis group as part of a larger flight science team.
Position Responsibilities:
* Supports definition of requirements for propulsion systems, auxiliary power systems and vehicle fuel and tank systems.
* Assists to define, coordinate and control the functional and physical interfaces between the propulsion system and the vehicle.
* Assists in developing specifications for associated vehicle systems to meet customer and regulatory requirements.
* Documents configurations and designs of propulsion sub-systems and components.
* Assists in using various testing, analysis, modeling and simulation tools to estimate or calculate system performance.
* Assists in the performance of certification tests for propulsion sub-systems and components.
* Assists in supporting fielded systems to assure continued reliability and airworthiness.
* Supports development of concepts for future propulsion systems to meet anticipated requirements.
This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
* Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.
* 3+ years of Experience working in propulsion systems.
* Experience with jet engines and/or air breathing propulsion operation fundamentals.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
* Propulsion ground and flight test
* Propulsion analysis
* Propulsion system installation
* Propulsion system support
* Experience with field support or working in a field support environment
