Become Senior Manager, Instructional Design & Technical Learning at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, youll manage the analysis, implementation and deployment and/or facilitation of Organizational Unit (OU) Specific technical training for Transmission & Distribution (T&D), Customer Service (CS), Information Technology (IT), Generation, Finance/Material supply, etc. You will lead the technical Training work group including 12 full time employees and contingent works to deliver relevant technical training and provide duties for specialized work disciplines in OUs. * Develop and maintain partnerships with client organizations and executive/senior management.
* Oversee the planning and execution of short, mid and long-range technical training and learning programs.
* Forecast future technical training needs and provide recommendations.
* Lead and direct planning discussions with staff and business leaders to identify additional learning requirements based on business drivers and goals.
* Develop assessment and evaluation strategies that measure effectiveness of technical training programs and ensure desired learning objectives have been achieved.
* Lead assessment initiatives that target technical training program gaps by collaborating with client groups to collect and analyze performance indications.
* Provide strategic direction to management to ensure all learning solutions meet regulatory and legal requirements.
* Oversee the analysis, development and deployment of safety-driven technical training programs, including vendor research and management and working closely with procurement adhering to established guidelines for vendor management relationship, training plan development and regular communication with managers.
* Manage and coordinate business activities according to established policies and procedures.
* Develop and manage a budget and resources to meet tactical objectives and operational needs.
* Make, recommend, and approve employment decisions such as hiring, promotion, appropriate pay, rewards/recognition, succession planning and termination.
* Manage employee performance for both direct and/or matrix reports.
* Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications
The essentials

* Five years of combined experience leading, managing, or supervising an organization, unit or team or project management experience in learning development or instructional design.
* Experience working with job skills training or functional learning.

The preferred

* Experience managing functions within the technical training discipline and/or technical training.
* Experience in performance consulting and program evaluations.
* Ability to perform effective resource and project planning, decision making, results delivery, team building, and the ability to stay current with relevant technology and innovation.
* Strong ethics, influence and negotiation, leadership, interpersonal skills, communication, and the ability to effectively manage stress and engage in continuous learning.
* Ability to create and maintain a safety conscious work environment.
* A successful track record of building relationships and integrating work across relevant areas, developing service offerings to enhance customer satisfaction and productivity, managing risks appropriately, developing and execute business plans, managing information, and provide exceptional service to internal and external customers.
* Strong ethics, influence and negotiation, leadership, interpersonal skills, communication, and the ability to effectively manage stress and engage in continuous learning.
