Praxair Surface Technologies (PST) Electronic Materials is a manufacturer of machined parts used in industrial processes and provides services to the semiconductor industry. Currently we are looking for a Procurement Manager to join our team in Orangeburg, NY.
The role will have responsibility for strategic regional and global commodity sourcing as a member the Electronic Materials business. The individual in this role will serve as the global lead to perform the execution of procurement strategies to manage sourcing of quality purity metals and raw material, equipment and services. This position is also responsible for the day to day procurement of raw materials and critical item commodities, alternative sourcing, supplier qualification/development, supplier performance/improvements/supply chain management and identifying/implementing opportunities to lower total cost for the Business. Department also supports R&D and Proposal activities and resulting supplier qualification/development. All processes and suppliers are managed through a rigorous Quality System. This role will have dotted line reporting and accountability to the Orangeburg Plant Manager.
Responsibilities:
* Responsible for the strategic sourcing, commercialization, supplier development and contract management
* Procures equipment, materials, services, engineering and services from approved or newly qualified suppliers at the lowest evaluated cost consistent with considerations of quality, reliability and delivery.
* Negotiates, generates, administers and manages complex high dollar global supply agreements with sourcing team consistent with Lindes business interests. Liaise with the GPMM team, Finance and Corporate Law Department to ensure Linde guidelines/policies are maintained. Guides and provides support to procurement at global sites.
* Actively manage key global suppliers and foster strategic relationships creating a competitive advantage
* Manage supplier relationships and utilize supplier report cards to effectively drive supplier behaviors. Drive Supplier Code of Conduct and Responsible for Supply Chain to source materials from environmentally and socially responsible sources and be conflict-free. Respond to associated customer requests.
* Understand supplier capacity, quality and lead time issues, and effectively communicate risks back to business.
* Utilizes cross functional team approach to develop and implement sourcing strategies, supplier projects and issue resolution.
* Understand suppliers cost stack and use total cost of ownership levers to achieve cost reduction / cost avoidance, cycle time reduction, improved services, increased reliability or productivity improvements. Identifies and leads continuous improvement opportunities in the procurement function and actively supports/participates in business productivity initiative. Drives continuous improvement via the quality system.
* Measure the results of strategy implementation and provide actionable feedback to business stakeholders. Develops key metrics, forecasting and spend/save reports with the objective of enhancing the understanding of terms and market activity.
* During Yearly Price reviews: Using available forecasts understand and identify all corresponding risks and opportunities and obtain best in class supplier price and delivery performance. During the year, evaluate alternatives and drive qualifications and recommend implementation into products.
* Works with and through local and global Sourcing Managers who also implement these responsibilities. Manages local team.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
* Bachelors degree required
* Minimum of 5+ years procurement experience, 8+ semiconductor or similar global manufacturing environment, sales and or business experience
* Experience negotiating and documenting High Value, Complex, Global Commercial Contracts
* Team leadership skills: working through, motivating and developing others
* Advanced knowledge of Microsoft suite, Oracle or similar system. Advanced Excel Analytical Skills
* Excellent oral, written communication, and presentation skills required.
* Proven ability to lead and work effectively across all levels and functions of a global organization
* Ability to conceptualize, negotiate and sell ideas internally and externally.
* Must be a strong team player who can lead and work independently in a complex, technical and international, fast paced environment
* Proven self-management, influencing and leadership skills.
Preferred:
* Technical/Engineering degree MBA or advanced degree
* International Trade training in laws, taxation and compliance is a plus
* PMP, CPM certification
* Experience in high purity metallurgy
* Exposure to working in a rigorous Quality System (IATF)
* Six Sigma Green Belt certification
* Willing to travel up to 15%
* Prior management experience
