Digital Full Stack Architect

Hands-on role responsible for the architectural approach, design and recommended solutions and updates within the Digital domain. Makes strategic architecture recommendations that align with the enterprises strategic direction and goals. Leads solution reviews, presents proposed solutions before the appropriate security and risk governance boards. Participates in and influences buy versus build decisions.

This position will work closely with the SCRUM teams that fall under the Digital Agile Release Train providing leadership while architecting end-to-end solutions across distributed and hosted environments.

Key Responsibilities:

* Designs technology approaches and solutions that are aligned to the business digital strategy and vision, goals and specific challenges, in collaboration with product and platform owners, analysts, engineers and experience designers, recommends short/long term actions based on best practices
* Collaborates with product management, platform owners and engineers to understand the business requirements and needs to determine PoCs and broader technology solutions architecture
* Transforms requirements into conceptual architecture design documents
* Balance solution architecture recommendations between what is possible and what is practical being mindful of technical debt avoidance and ensuring connected customer experiences
* Align Cloud-native technical solutions to enterprise patterns and standards by working with key stakeholders such as Enterprise Architecture Board, Security Review Board, Enterprise Data Management, Enterprise Integration Services
* Keep current on the latest modern technologies and solutions that impact customer experience and time-to-market to influence and drive technology choices and adoption
* Share learnings on new patterns that are established to enable other technology teams to benefit and derive meaningful value
* Participate in enterprise technical risk assessments as required
* Keep up-to-date architecture diagrams and roadmaps that align to the digital strategy, platform releases and business capabilities
* Works with delivery leads to ensure appropriate sequencing of solutions, eliminating complexity of the eco-system
* Understands licensing contracts, working with delivery teams to reduce non-value add solutions, redundant and/or legacy technologies
* Provides technical guidance to delivery teams in their area of expertise and/or leads teams to complete defined release scope
* Generates conceptual/logical architectures, system documents and risk assessments
* Responsible for ensuring the recommended design is followed through to implementation through reviews of high-level and detailed design documentation
* Represents solution at architecture and security review boards and assists in securing required approval

Required Skills

* Demonstrates a strong understanding of the current and future technology architecture, including the inter-operability of technologies
* Demonstrates ability to develop architecture documentation aligned to industry frameworks and methodologies
* Experience implementing mobile and web-based enterprise platforms and solutions
* Solid knowledge and experience with implementing solutions in AWS cloud
* Proven experience working in an Agile team contributing to the refinement of technical user stories, identifying potential risks and issues
* Strong understanding of open source platform and tools that could form building blocks of solution design
* Understanding of Internet security and messaging protocols Oauth, SAML, REST, JSON
* Ability to collaborate effectively with business stakeholders as well as solution developers, engineers and architects
* Ability to tailor communications to the target audience to achieve desired results
* Demonstrable experience successfully managing multiple implementations
* Proven ability to execute on technical PoCs to prove out a vendor-based solution and/or proposed technical solution
* Well-versed in Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) and Web Oriented Architecture (WOA), MicroService Based Architecture, Design Pattern, and Architecture Best Practice and Standards such as TOGAF, 12 factor app
* Strong analytical, problem solving and conceptual skills
* Excel at communicating (spoken, written, presentation) with an ability to express technical concepts in business terms
* Ability to negotiate and navigate difficult or ambiguous situations, adapt and work effectively with a variety of situations, individuals and technologies
* Degree in a STEM or Business field or equivalent
* Takes ownership and accountability
* Ability to work as part of a distributed product team
* Forward thinking; ability to identify potential risks and issues, proactively providing recommendations for mitigating
* Actively participate and collaborate within Agile teams to effectively plan and execute deliverables for each sprint
* Embraces diversity and inclusion of thought
* Ability to work across boundaries, building cross organizational relationships
* Strong desire to develop and advance own skills through self-study, hands-on and shadow learning, formal instruction

Preferred Skills

* Technical implementation experience of DevOps
* Experience with Cloud Services (AWS, Azure), platform as a service; micro-services architecture and architecture models
* Proven track record of driving change and innovation as well as legacy system modernization
* Data model design experience, including big data architecture
* Certified in any of professional skills such as Cloud platform, K8S, TOGAF, etc.
* Insurance or Wealth Management domain knowledge
