This position is in Balad Air Base, Iraq

Provide diagnostics, maintenance and repair of aircraft components at the intermediate and extended intermediate levels of maintenance. Assist and train other personnel in the accomplishment of maintenance, diagnostics, and repair on these systems and components in accordance with applicable technical orders. Provide advice and assistance in the maintenance and repair of the RIAIS/IAIS and related components as part of the maintenance training task. Advise and assist personnel on TCTO accomplishment and documentation.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS/INFO: Candidate must be a high school graduate or have completed an equivalent program. Progressive and documented experience in the fighter aircraft maintenance environment. Documented qualifications in related maintenance fields. Must have strong communications and interpersonal skills. Must read, write and speak English fluently. Regularly required to lift/carry up to 50 pounds, perform repetitive movements, and perform work from ground level to overhead. This position requires frequent standing for long periods, walking, stooping, kneeling, squatting, crawling, and twisting. Assignment location is in Iraq.

The first several months of this assignment will support flying operations from a US location followed by site set-up activities in Iraq. Site set-up activities will include but are not limited to light to medium construction activities such as assembling warehouse shelving and furniture in all areas of the maintenance complex. Candidates must be willing and able to participate in all set-up activities, assist with receiving and storing supplies and support equipment. The site will still be under construction at the time of the first arrivals. Environmental/weather conditions can be extreme during different seasons. Site is a secure compound which team members will be confined to. Flexibility, a positive attitude and excellent people skills are a must.

Candidates offered a position must complete a pre-employment medical exam that is designed to ensure deployment to the worksite in Iraq, which is located in an austere environment with very limited access to medical care, does not pose a direct threat.

*SECURITY Clearance REQUIRED. Must have an Interim Secret Security Clearance prior to start date AND must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
Basic Qualifications:
Candidate must have held a USAF skill level 5 (or equivalent) in their career field.

Candidate must have at least 4 years experience with F-16 aircraft maintenance activities.

Candidate must have at least 4 years experience as a Avionics Test Station Technician, along with System diagnostics experience.
Desired Skills:
Previous experience setting up maintenance work areas

A strong understanding of the maintenance process

Perform routine system troubleshooting, installation and repair.

Have a working knowledge of electronic and mechanical systems and components on the F-16 aircraft

Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Access)
