The Lockheed Martin Space Pulsar development team is focused on evolving how Lockheed Martin Space does business. Were consistently looking at ways to improve our collaboration, foster innovation and advance how we operate. The Pulsar development team creates highly immersive experiences designed to inspire, excite, and educate visitors using an advanced, configurable visualization center equipped with some of the latest technologies for audio and video production. The team holds creativity and innovation as core principles in everything we do.

This position requires a creative, and design-oriented individual to lead the production studio team in the overall creative process and development of quality immersive experiences and applications for the Advanced Visualization team. A strong eye for branding, design, and user experience is required, as is the ability to work well with a distributed team. The ideal candidate will have experience editing video, audio, graphics and a creative eye for design using light, 3D space and other various mediums. This individual should be team oriented and comfortable giving and receiving respectful, candid feedback while working through design challenges that require novel solutions. A successful candidate will be flexible within their design process to deliver on quick turn requests. The ability to work creatively and efficiently under pressure to maintain successful delivery of high-quality content is a must.

Roles and responsibilities will include:
Working closely with the production studio team, program management, and software engineers to shape project requirements through industry research, stakeholder interviews and emerging trends
Collaborating with program management and the production studio team to ensure projects are on budget and schedule
Oversee day-to-day operations of production processes and personnel
Oversee hiring, on-boarding and continued training of team members, ensuring strategic alignment with business objectives and desired impact
Coach direct reports on personal development plans; create opportunities for them to grow into additional responsibilities
Engaging in end to end development of unique interactions and products to support Pulsar deliverables
Offering creative guidance to production studio team on design principles as needed
Continually exploring and integrating current design trends and emerging visual communication technology
Partnering with Lockheed Martin Space and Lockheed Martin Corporate Communications teams to integrate appropriate internal messaging/strategy into mission personalization experiences and adhere to Lockheed Martin branding guidelines
Basic Qualifications:
Strong digital art skills and portfolio reflecting creative expertise for campaigns that may include 2D/3D graphic design, user interface/user experience design, interactive, motion graphics, print, video or web.
Extensive experience with project planning, estimation and staffing
Strong communication and organization skills
Exceptional relationship-building, problem-solving and presentation skills
Able to understand an individual teams dynamics and energize the team accordingly with an emphasis on continuous improvement
Solid understanding and knowledge of digital media, marketing operations, and application development and support
Extensive experience in tools for design (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator) and video production (e.g., After Effects, Premiere)
A basic understanding of audio/video hardware systems and their respective media formats.
Strong writing and editing skills
Desired Skills:
General understanding of the Aerospace and Defense environment
Familiarity with game development platforms (e.g. Unity, Unreal)
Experience creating content for non-traditional environments (e.g. non-standard aspect ratios, projection mapping, 3D audio)
Flexibility to modify plans and approach based on feedback
Ability to consistently learn and integrate new technologies
Experience with Agile tools (e.g. JIRA, Pivotal Tracker, etc.)
Must be willing and able to engage leadership to remove impediments and improve the teams efficiency
Experience in fast-paced, start-up like environment with time and priority management
Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines with minimal oversight
