Havasu Regional Medical Center
The Pharmacy Technician provides supportive pharmaceutical tasks for the Pharmacy Department; maintains an optimal level of pharmaceutical inventory through application of effective purchasing procedures with the appropriate contract vendors; develops and maintains external contacts which include medical service representatives from pharmaceutical companies, medical supply companies, professional peers from other Arizona/California/Nevada hospitals, local retail pharmacy outlets, customer service representatives from pharmacy computer vendor and automated dispensing cabinet support departments, and state and federal certification inspectors; performs specific activities required to handle medications in an effective and timely manner; assures appropriate storage and accurate delivery of needed medications; displays comprehensive knowledge of, and conforms to, hospital and department policies and procedures as well as state, federal and TJC pharmacy regulations and standards; works to optimize medication-related quality in the hospital; maintains required compliance documentation; promotes positive customer relations and actively contributes to a supportive and cooperative work environment within and outside the Pharmacy Department; protects health and safety of patients and staff by proper handling of chemicals and drugs; and performs other related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements
Minimum Education
High School Diploma or GED required
Required Licenses
Pharmacy Technicians
AZ pharmacy technician license required on hire
PTCB certification required on hire
Required Skills
Must have strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills. Effective human relations skills are required for interfacing with team members, all levels of staff, physicians, patients, families and other contacts. Must possess the ability to effectively function in a stressful environment. Must possess the ability to use the following equipment; Telephone/Overhead Paging System/Fax Machine/Calculator/Computer. As pertinent to the position, must be able to use computer, telephone, calculator and adapt to new technology as it becomes available and necessary for the job. Must have a positive attitude, even temperament in stress/conflict situations.
