Job Description

Ingredion is hiring a Flavor Scientist and Business Lead to lead our Flavor / Flavor Modulation ingredient, applications and formulation development program. The Scientist and Business Lead will be responsible for leading flavor-based ingredient research, as well as applications and formulation develop to further knowledge and understanding of key ingredients. The selected individual will create, apply and market flavors with modifying properties (FMPs) globally and provide technical flavor support to internal and external customers. You will be considered Ingredions subject matter expert in this area, sharing knowledge and providing thought leadership within the organization and will be responsible for developing new ingredient solutions, publishing technical and Go to Market materials, directing customer evaluations and supporting key customer projects.
Core Responsibilities:
Lead the Flavor Modifying Properties (FMPs) stevia flavor portfolio development, aligned with our annual business goals and Sugar Reduction / Specialty Sweeteners growth strategy
Develop technical thought leadership in the area of Stevia and other ingredient based flavors / flavor modulators and effectively communicate throughout the organization.
Drive New Program Development, Applied Research and Applications projects, providing leadership and direction based with opportunities in flavor and flavor modifier market.
Support and lead customer engagements, build relationships with key technical customer opinion leaders, and drive product adoption supporting revenue and category growth
Identify and propose potential new customer benefits, product and/or technology development opportunities aligned with our business strategy
Develop technical presentations and for key customer & industry engagements
Interact and collaborate broadly and effectively, with research growth platform leaders, key technology functions (Applications, R&D, Tech Service, Sensory, Process Technology, etc) and the Go-to -Market functions globally to drive flavor / flavor modulation business development
Lead, inspire and educate project teams, develop strong working relationship and engage stakeholders, encourage collaboration around FMPs.
Act as a technical advisor to users of FMPs in compliance with legislation worldwide. Coordinate activities with regional teams as required. Manage IP Strategy implementation and patent applications in the Flavor / Flavor Modulation area.
Serve as a technical lead and subject matter expert on multifunctional product development teams.
Set priorities, mange key projects and the overall technical portfolio to deliver key project on time.
Qualified candidates will have:
MS/BS degree in Food Technology or Chemistry with 7 to 10+ years of experience with flavors for Sweet Goods and Beverages applications. PhD a plus.
Extensive knowledge as flavor chemist or similar position.
Certifications by the Society of Flavor Chemists or in the process of achieving certification.
Demonstrated project leadership and program management experience and ability to work in diverse team, under tight timelines, and on multiple projects.
Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate and communicate and interact with Cross-Functional teams.
Strong management skills with demonstrated leadership in managing all aspects of key initiatives and programs to successful completion.
Ability to travel up to 20%
