The Infra Data Center Business Support team leverages operational efficiencies to develop effective solutions that support all aspects of data center operations. One critical pillar of the teams role is the adherence to and continuous improvement of compliance functions. Our most critical area of compliance is the Data Eradication (ERAD) Program, which ensures that all user data stored and operated within the Data Center assets are appropriately handled and eradicated prior to the asset leaving Facebooks possession.
Operations Program Manager - ERAD NPI Responsibilities
* Become the resident expert to develop storage media eradication methods for new hardware introduced into the Facebook Data Center and PoP fleet. Innovate new methods to sanitize media at scale. Productionize new methods of media destruction at scale.
* Collaborate cross-functionally with Facebook hardware teams to develop new storage media eradication methods prior to new product introduction.
* Track progress of sample material and hardware sent to vendor for Open Compute Project Hardware development. Report progress of integration into the ERAD process and escalate any issues.
* Provide project management oversight for software modifications, ensure continued compatibility, and manage integration efforts to Facebook data center tooling.
* Investigate and manage compliance incidents and events by partnering with data center, network and logistics teams.
* Conduct business process reengineering reviews to innovate business processes and define ways to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
* Identify operational pain points and opportunities to improve business practices, and prioritize resources in the areas that will deliver the greatest impact.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams and vendors/manufacturers to coordinate failure analysis efforts.
* Review compliance exception justifications and disposition to the right team.
* Work with the Data Center and POP teams to understand when and how procedures need to be amended (and how they can continue to be optimized).
* Able to travel domestically and internationally (10-20%).
Minimum Qualifications
* Bachelors degree in MIS, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
* 5+ years of experience industry project or program management experience.
* Analytical, problem-solving, negotiation and organizational skills with a clear focus under pressure.
* Demonstrated experience with adapting quickly, learning new skillsets, and gaining a solid understanding of operational challenges.
* Proactive with proven experience executing on multiple tasks simultaneously.
* Proven communication skills and demonstrated attention to detail.
* Independent and thorough in examination and analysis, along with being consensus-building and results-oriented.
* Proven interpersonal skills, including relationship building and roll-up the sleeves type of collaboration within a diverse, global, cross-functional team.
Preferred Qualifications
* Data center, hardware, and/or server infrastructure experience.
* Demonstrated track record of delivering business value using technology solutions in high-tech operations space.
* Strong organizational and time management skills.
* Resourceful, gritty, action-orientated with experience getting things done and overcoming obstacles.
