Facebook is seeking an individual to help define, build and scale new Messenger partnership products and programs. This position will be responsible for developing product strategy, leading go-to-market including planning, prioritization and goals and ensuring successful execution for large scale initiatives. The focus of this role is on determining how users, regardless of their platform or location, can connect with each other in a meaningful way, without being encumbered by dated technologies such as SMS. This position will drive strategy with Product and Engineering teams to help mobile network operators and handset manufacturers deliver the best possible messaging experience using Messengers technologies such as video calling and Rooms. The successful candidate will infuse the needs of mobile network operators, cell phone manufacturers and consumers into product planning to help Facebook build products that consumers love. This strategy role will focus on foundational qualitative and quantitative analysis to evaluate market needs by segment, market and opportunity sizes, business cases and product positioning. It will include the ability to synthesize market trends and effectively work with colleagues across the company to drive results. Strategy managing responsibilities include supporting launch planning including partner messaging and positioning. This role is highly cross-functional and will work closely with the Product, Engineering, Policy, Finance, Partnerships, Design, Research, Communications and Marketing teams. Product Marketing Manager, Messenger Responsibilities
* Drive Messenger product strategy:
* Quantitatively and qualitatively assess product performance and market conditions
* Identify opportunities and establish market requirements based on a deep understanding of partner needs, partner capabilities, available technology, industry dynamics and user feedback
* Advocate for feature improvements and new or enhanced functionality
* Lead Messenger Go-to-Market:
* Articulate and validate partner value proposition and establish quantitative business case (i.e. ROI/TCO/NPV)
* Develop go-to-market strategy (market prioritization, pipeline, goals)
* Create positioning and collateral (i.e. pitch, objection handling, case studies)
* Lead cross-functional execution and planning to support product launches and scaled adoption efforts globally
* Drive product growth and partner success:
* Develop product and partner growth playbook in partnership with product, data science and other teams (i.e. growth levers, tactics, prioritization, metrics)
* Manage pilots (i.e. define scope, roll-out strategy, recruit partners and support evaluation of results)
* Support partnership teams globally as a subject matter expert to enable partner success and best practices adoption
* Ability to travel internationally, up to 20% of the time with flexibility to work across time zones and influence remote teams
Minimum Qualifications
* 8+ years of experience working in a product marketing, product management, management consulting, product strategy or equivalent function (partnered with product management and/or engineering on strategy and go-to-market)
* Quantitative analytical experience (i.e. SQL) in decision making with large data sets and quantitative analysis or other data science training
* BS/BA degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, Economics or related discipline
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience with messaging platforms (i.e. iMessage, Messenger, SMS, RCS, Snapchat) and their strategic and competitive positions
* Experience collaborating and leading cross-functionally with experience building consensus among multiple stakeholders in an entrepreneurial, high-expectation environment
* Highly organized, resourceful and action-oriented individual with experience driving focus, clarity and prioritization in a fast-paced environment
