Who You Are

* CAD Design certificate or equivalent. Good 3D design ability in a CAD system. In house training available to specifically learn Catia
* Computer literate; MS Word, Power Point, Excel
* Have the ability to dissect a problem and create a solution that addresses the issue
* Enjoys the option to get your hands dirty and be involved in building, testing and debugging tools
* Enjoy full/fast-paced design cycles that average 2 years and a dynamic work environment
* Ability to learn the latest modeling techniques from resident experts thru extensive training programs that cover the full range of options

What Youll Do
As a Drafter/Designer, youll be part of our Global Customer Experience (GCX) team located in Towson MD. This dynamic marketing organization includes our Insights, Brand, Studio (Creative Services) and Industrial Design teams, all focused on helping drive sales growth for a $10B business. Specifically, youll:

* Successfully support the design process to achieve quality, performance, schedule and cost objectives in a cross-functional environment
* Design subassemblies and complex parts of power tools and related test fixtures in 3D using Catia
* Carry out stack-ups and coordinate print dimensions to ensure product assembly and functionality remain consistent throughout its lifetime
* Investigate design issues & test failures, and identify, recommend and implement corrective actions to components in 3D models
* Collaborate with Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) team to perform basic simulations using 3D CAD software to test designs before they are built
* Work in a core team of 3-4 engineers/designers to develop a product from start to finish.
* Partner closely with the model shop to coordinate execution of prototypes
