Job Description
NCR Payroll & HR Solutions Payroll Tax Filing Service provides the know-how and resources to provide our customers relief from the pressures of payroll tax deadlines by completing electronic deposits and filing Quarterly and Annual payroll tax returns in a multi-state environment which includes locals in all states. The environment is challenging and rewarding within the payroll tax filing division of our organization.
Payroll Tax Analyst Responsibilities:
* Demonstrate an understanding of payroll concepts and effectively apply knowledge to payroll tax filing requirements
* Communicate with the IRS, State, and Local tax jurisdictions regarding payroll taxes
* Work with different payroll platforms and with our proprietary Payroll Tax Filing system
* Thoroughly and accurately analyze data provided by Clients and payroll tax collectors
* Prepare efficient and practical approaches to situations and arrive at appropriate conclusions
* Research/Develop recommendations and make reasonable decisions in judgment areas, including the preparation of payroll tax amended returns.
* Research discrepancies and consult with client and payroll tax agencies to determine the best course of action.
* Identify earning and deduction taxability and proactively identify proper conversion of payroll data.
* Troubleshooting issues and answering questions to assist clients in timely manner.
* Must be able to work independently on a variety of projects.
* Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
Qualifications:
* Associate degree or higher required in Accounting or Finance preferred.
* Minimum of 1 year of payroll tax experience or equivalent experience in business or the payroll industry.
* Excellent organizational, verbal and written skills.
* Must maintain a high degree of accuracy while managing multiple projects.
* Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Dynamics).
* Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or related certification desired
* Working knowledge of other payroll and tax filing platforms. (i.e. ISolved, SaaSHR, Quickbooks, Paylocity, MasterTax or similar systems is highly desired).
