Within our plants around the world, were constantly developing new technologies and processes to further increase our efficiency. What youll be able to do:
* Provide MP&L functional knowledge, including new model launch planning, change control, bill of material, parts follow-up, shop floor scheduling, inventory planning, cycle checking, distribution, logistics, material handling, packaging, and industrial material to support the plant manufacturing processes with production and nonproduction materials
* Provides high-level management of MP&L floor operations and Production Control (office support) department
* Coach and counsel lean manufacturing behaviors and instill discipline in MP&L processes
* Meet material handling guidelines and regulations
* Review and evaluate future plans for expansion and/or modification of the plants MP&L equipment, resources, and/or future facilities to determine the effect on MP&L operations
* Ensure accurate salaried headcount and personal is in place to support the business needs
* Develop department objectives, schedule and implementation roadmaps
* Participate on plants senior leadership Operating Committee
* Participate with Supply Chain Management, scheduling, customers, and plant when there are production critical supply issues
* Assure Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, People, Maintenance, Environment objectives and operating systems implementation
* Prioritize key issues and allocate resources accordingly
* Assure Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), vehicle safety, ergonomics, housekeeping practices are being planned and adhered to
* Represent MP&L employees in local personnel development committee and ensure there is a developmental plan for MP&L employees, accurate compensation planning, and performance reviews completed
* Mentor and counsel salaried employees as the need arises
* Develop action plans to improve morale within the department
* Reports to the Plant Manager
* Supervises two management-level direct reports
The minimum requirements we seek:
* Bachelors degree
* 10+ years progressive manufacturing and/or material handling experience
* 1+ years of experience with high-level management of facility wide material handling initiatives
* 1+ years of experience supervising salaried employees, including managers
Our preferred requirements:
* Strong ability to collaborate with plant hourly personnel, salaried personnel, plant management, staff operations, logistics carriers, and production suppliers
* Strong analytical skills and quick decision making capability
* Ability to work well under pressure and manage fast paced situations when vital
* Proficient in computer applications (MS Office Suite)
* Successful candidate will demonstrate leadership in One FORD behaviors, including outstanding interpersonal, teambuilding and communication skills
* Degree in or related to Material Handling, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or Packing Engineering preferred
* Experience in scheduling, distribution, supply chain, inventory planning, bill of material, change control, new model launch, logistics, material handling line feed processes, nonproduction stores, material flow, FCSD, production and material management systems desired.
