The Technology, Software and Services organization is looking for a charismatic technical leader to oversee a large portion of its software development organization.

You will be a part of the Consumer Solutions business unit that is responsible for consumer products sold worldwide under the brands WD, Sandisk and G-Technology and reach over 300 million customers every year.

In this role, you will lead geographically distributed development teams responsible for mobile, web and desktop clients development, as well as cloud services implementation for the connected and security software platforms that power our portfolio of consumer products.

Our organization has a charter to help transform the business through new software experiences, build a consolidated ecosystem of products where content can move freely between devices and services and ultimately to generate a recurring revenue for the organization.

You will actively contribute to defining the product roadmap and take a critical leadership role in growing the technology organization, through mentoring, hiring, and leading for performance.

The ideal candidate for the role will bring a mix of broad technical expertise, experience delivering products to market and a passion for building and developing organizations both from talent and process standpoint.

The role requires experience leading highly performing cross-functional and geographically distributed teams; excellent technical skills to actively contribute to the software architecture roadmap and work with peers and engineers through technical decisions.

The ideal candidate will enjoy mentoring and developing members of the organization, within or outside his team. He or she will continuously assess the needs of the organization and will be able to hire the right talents.

Depending on the candidate performance and ability to scale, the role could evolve to include additional engineering responsibilities across the organization.

The role would be ideally located in the Bay Area where most of the leadership team is currently located, but we are a remote-friendly organization and would consider making accommodations for the right candidate.

SKILLS:

* B.S. in Computer Science required.

* 10+ years of experience as a hands-on technical leader in software development

* Highly comfortable leading and growing cross-functional and distributed organizations.

* Broad technical expertise with an ability to engage with technical staff.

* Track record of shipping disruptive consumer products with emphasis on time to market and quality.

* Experience with service monetization is a significant plus.

* Experience with hybrid mobile development is a plus

* Experience driving cloud services architecture and implementation.
