Responsibilities
Poplar Springs Hospital, a 183 bed acute care and residential facility, is located in Petersburg, Virginia, 20 minutes south of Richmond and 50 minutes north of North Carolina. Situated on 25 acres, our serene, nature-like setting offers our patients a sense of calm and peace. For more than 30 years Poplar Springs Hospital has been guided by its mission of helping those who need the full continuum of behavioral health services. Our facility offers behavioral and psychological treatment for adults and adolescents through our acute programs, adolescent residential programs, as well as programs for active duty military.
Provide day-to-day strategic management to Poplar Springs Hospital. Supervises the operations of the residential programs, including but not limited to the living environment, therapeutic milieu and safety and security. Participates in the development and implementation of daily activity schedules and treatment programming. Ensures the quality of care provided. Ensures compliance with the organization's mission and strategic plan. Ensures regulatory compliance with applicable Joint Commission, Virginia Office of Interdepartmental Regulation, dLCV and Human Rights standards.

Qualifications
Position Requirements:
Licensure/Certification/Registration:
* CPR/FA and CPI Certifications required.
Education/Experience:
* Bachelor's Degree preferred OR fived years clinical experience and five years management/supervisor experience.
Requirements:
* Must be at least 21 years of age per Commonwealth of Virginia Interdepartmental Regulation of Children's Residential Facilities. (22VAC42-11-380, pg. 43)
* Bachelors degree in social work, psychology or related field equivalent in recognized mental health field preferred.
* Knowledge of psychiatric and behavioral disorders in adolescents.
* Familiarity with follow-up resource services available.
* Skills in conducting private and family group therapy
* Skills in interpreting and applying standards and regulations applicable to programs and services (e.g., Joint Commission, DBHDS, dLCV).
* Basic management or supervisory and team building skills necessary.
* Consult with Program and other departmental staff to determine appropriateness for Residential treatment, inpatient hospitalization, partial hospitalization or outpatient services.
* Communicate with third party payers and community agencies to ensure reimbursement for recommended treatment.
* Adheres to all regulatory requirements.
* Perform all other duties as assigned within the scope of this position.
