Ashland has an exciting opportunity for an Advanced Materials Operator to join our group at our Freetown, Massachusetts site. This is a very visible, significant role within the Company and the Advanced Materials group. This position will report to the Process Engineer Manager.

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

* Hands-on role in the batch operations of all advanced materials fluid products in Freetown

* Performs advanced processes that require close attention to detail

* Responsible for operating, maintaining, and cleaning lab and pilot scale equipment

* Performs in-process analytical testing

* Responsible for raw material inventory management

* Follows all Ashland safety practices and provides feedback on potential improvements

* Participates on product teams for startups of any new processes

* Maintains environmental compliance and cGMP documentation

* Possess strong organizational and communication skills

* Creates and updates Microsoft Word and Excel documents

* Performs additional work as directed by the Process Engineer

In order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following

* Willingness to learn and ask questions as needed

* Must have the capability for a flexible work schedule

* Occasional weekend work required

* Ability to lift 50 lbs.

The following skill sets are preferred by the business unit:

* Associates Degree or equivalent experience

* Three years industrial experience in laboratory or pilot operations

* Knowledge of batch charging, batch process monitoring, batch reactions, or chemistry
