This position is part of our Electrical Distribution Systems segment out of Warren, OH.

Summary:

An IT Manager, EDS Global Engineering, works very closely with Aptiv engineering functions, acts as an SME of Global IT engineering solutions and serves as a bridge between the function & the IT team. The manager understands engineering systems & the IT eco system supporting the engineering function and is responsible for translating the business partner requirements into practical IT solutions, leveraging understanding of engineering systems concepts like embedded systems, engineering applications, product life cycle management, business process management, power electronics, etc. to advance better engineering solutions.

The manager is responsible for providing direction and leadership for engaging the business in strategic planning to define how IT can enable the division/function on achieving their business objectives via the business plan. The manager acts as the point of contact for Division, Business Unit, and Functional leadership to ensure IT is closely aligned and supporting of the business direction.

Responsibilities:

* Engage global and regional business engineering leaders to establish global acceptance of the IT taxonomy, strategy, roadmap and portfolio/project related decisions.

* Establish a definitive understanding and documentation of the prevailing IT applications, data and engineering processes and infrastructure landscape supporting engineering operations within each business unit/ region/ facility.

* Correlate engineering processes and IT tools and identify gaps, ensuring related information is captured in the Enterprise Applications database.

* Collaborate with enterprise, division and business unit teams to develop an integrated business unit specific strategy and roadmap for engineering.

* Lead due-diligence and selection of required solutions for required applications and tools, as well as identify new or improved solutions.

* Business Unit initiative budget planning and analysis, including analyzing future needs based on the business plan and IT roadmaps, submit budget proposals and business cases; executive summaries, review proposals with the engineering business leaders and provide decision support, forecast project execution, support project on-boarding process.

* Engage business, IT and supplier experts in planning and execution of legacy modernization initiatives to drive development and improvement.

* Participation in active project reviews to ensure execution is in alignment with functional strategy and IT standards.

* Keep IT and business leaders/ stakeholders informed on strategies/ roadmaps and progress to deployment roadmaps.

* Ensure that effective engineering service area solutions technical leadership is in place, consult business engineering organizations in the design of processes and systems roles.

* Increase the breadth of knowledge of the Engineering service architecture across the internal IT organization, IT service group, and enterprise.

Must Haves (Basic Qualifications):

* Bachelors degree in computer science or a related field or a field related to the service area.

* 10 years relevant work experience.

* Good understanding of ITIL Foundation certification as a minimum, additional certifications preferred.

* Proven service area solutions technical background with extensive experience in technology management.

* Working knowledge of data integration, relational databases, Oracle, Windows, and Linux operating systems.

* Hands-on experience with business requirements gathering/analysis.

* Proven experience in solutions architecture, design, and development.

* Excellent understanding of information processing principles and practices.

* Excellent grounding in core enterprise applications.

* Excellent technical knowledge of current systems software, protocols, and standards.

* Proven, hands-on experience with application development tools.

* Keen understanding of change management and testing requirements, techniques, and tools.

* Ability to create constructive relationships, influence, and communicate (IT management, business partner management, and non-technical staff).

* Ability to conduct research into emerging technologies and trends, standards, and products as required.

* Masters degree in computer science or a related field or a field related to the service area.

* 12 years relevant work experience.
