Position Summary

This position is responsible for the timely and accurate cash application of customer payments

Core Responsibilities

Requesting and obtaining accurate remittance details from a store, customer, or credit office for payments as needed.

Proper identification and documentation of variance amounts that remain on the account as collectible.

Review and follow-up of payments as assigned by supervisor

Perform necessary research to resolve questions or complete request

Follow-up regarding completion or update with originator

Additional projects/requests as directed by supervisor.

Position Requirements

EDUCATION

Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent

Preferred: College degree or in pursuit of degree

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

Required: Cash application of payments as directed in the customers remittance advice using established policies and procedures.

Obtain necessary customer remittance for clarification of questionable items. This may involve contact via telephone and/or fax and/or email with store personnel, District Credit Office/Financial Service Center personnel, or direct customer contact.

Identify and research of variances involving the use of online research tools, including but not limited to, CPR, Source, and Mobius.

Create chargeback entries to record payment variances.

Assume additional responsibilities as assigned by Supervisor.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Solid knowledge of department policies and procedures.

Proven customer service skills.

* Basic Accounting/Math Skills
* Proficiency in MS Office Applications including Excel and Word
