Responsibilities:

* The acute care staff physical therapist will administer treatments to the disabled, injured or diseased pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient per the medical direction of the referring physician.
* The staff physical therapist will perform administrative duties inherent to the position.
* The staff physical therapist will assist in clinical affiliation programs for students, clerical duties of the department and perform other duties as assigned.
* The staff physical therapist will report to the Director of Rehabilitation Services.
* Analyzing medical histories to ensure appropriated treatment;
* Proper consultation with physicians and other staff regarding the patient;
* Administering prescribed treatments and evaluation to patients in medical, surgical, and critical care areas;
* Performing administrative duties inherent to the position: supervision of therapy techs;
* Assisting in the organizing and supervising clinical affiliation programs for students;
* Assisting in the clerical duties of the department and other duties as assigned;
* Requires heavy lifting and good use of proper body mechanics; and
* Education of family/patient on treatments precautions and home programs.

Qualifications

What Qualifications You Will Need:

* Graduate of an accredited program or certificate program of physical therapy;

* Current and valid licensure in the state of Louisiana; and

* Compliance with all continuing education requirements as specified by the Louisiana

* State Board of Physical Therapy Examiners.

* Must maintain current CPR.
