Airgas is seeking an On-sites Business Development Analyst in Allentown, PA.

Support the Airgas Merchant On-sites (MOS) Business Development (BD) group to achieve Airgas' growth objectives (includes support of MOS business development, merchant ASU and LCO2 project development)

Business and Project Development:

* Support BD Managers in the development of new opportunities and merchant projects from selection committee through the CPR-C stage including preparation of project economics, presentations, project analysis, scenario development, competitive analysis and executive summaries

* Coordinate CPR and RIC scheduling and document preparation for projects

* Continuously identify and communicate advantages that improve projects economics to the BD Managers

* Support BD work to secure MOS contract renewals

* Focal point in MOS for opportunity upkeep in Salesforce.com, prospecting business analysis and implementation of new Salesforce.com instances.

P&L Management

* Support for MOS budgeting work and analysis of customer sales and profitability

* Coordinates work with Airgas Operations to drive profit improvement; efficiency projects, HIL reduction, etc.

* MOS customer billing support

Planning and Market Development:

* Monitor and analyze the trends in MOS customer industries that may impact the MOS business

* Develop prospect lists for target MOS markets

Product Development:

* Work with On-sites Product Development and BD managers on the roll-out of the new MOS product offerings (VSA-i, SMR), prepare training and marketing materials, selling tools

* Evaluate HPN product line competitiveness, economic breakpoint of total operating costs versus multiple APSAs, identify product development needs

* Evaluate small H2 on-site market and product offering

* Maintain MOS idle asset list

Knowledge Development:

* Demonstrate an understanding of the business drivers for Airgas

* Understand BD strategy and tactics to achieve growth objectives

* Develop solid working relationships with key interface groups in order to maximize knowledge base and identify opportunities

* Develop positive internal relationships with Business Development Managers, Operations, Product Management, CI, ALTEC, Operations Support, Finance, and Airgas regional and marketing teams

* Develop skills to position employee for a BD role in the future

* Personal accident and incident free conduct

Requirements:

* Bachelor of Science in Engineering; chemical or mechanical preferred

* Graduate degree in engineering or MBA a plus

* At least two years' experience in related field

* Ability to understand customer processes and application of Airgas' products and services to these processes

* Knowledge of Airgas' different technologies and cost advantages and disadvantages of these technologies

* Knowledge of Airgas' supply systems and capabilities, including operations, restrictions and cost factors

* Ability to function in a team environment with minimal internal structure, extensive flexibility, and limited supervision

* Strong verbal and written communication skills

* Excellent computer skills including a high degree of ability to effectively utilize a variety of internal and external software resources to gather and analyze a wide range of data

* Capability of developing a deeper theoretical/practical business and financial knowledge generally associated with an MBA or comparable experience

* Strong analytical skills and the ability to perform project economics
