Basic Job Functions:

The Occupational Health and Safety Coordinator is an active member of the division safety team. They are responsible for taking initiative to implement actions and build our division safety culture. They must lead, influence, coach and teach the division teammates. They are responsible for managing all administrative tasks including, but not limited to, workers compensation details, OSHA required training and reporting and division health and medical programs. The Occupational Health and Safety Coordinator is also responsible for overseeing and managing the division drug screening program and providing first aid intervention for all teammates including follow ups. They are also responsible for interacting with and assisting the company physician and massage therapist.

Must acquire 30 hour OSHA certification within 6 months and EMT license within a reasonable timeframe.

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead and uphold safety practices, policies, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

* High School Diploma or GED

Preferred Qualifications:

* Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel, Outlook, and Word, and SAP
* Formal education in safety or related field of study
* EMT, RN or other formal Medical Training
* Experience with formal Safety and/or Environmental programs

This segment also engages in the piling distribution business. The Raw Materials segment produces direct reduced iron (DRI); processes ferrous and nonferrous metals; brokers ferrous and nonferrous metals, pig iron, DRI, and hot briquetted iron; supplies ferro-alloys; and processes ferrous and nonferrous scrap metal, as well as engages in the natural gas drilling operations. This segment sells its ferrous scrap to electric arc furnace steel mills and foundries for manufacturing process; and nonferrous scrap metal to aluminum can producers, secondary aluminum smelters, steel mills and other processors, and consumers of various nonferrous metals.

The company offers its products through its in-house sales forces; and internal distribution and trading companies. The company was founded in 1940 and is based in Charlotte, North Carolina.
