Microsoft is looking for an individual to support the Renewable Energy Team within the Cloud & Infrastructure Organization (CI+O). This position will support the procurement and management of renewable energy contracts to meet Microsoft's 100% renewable energy goal by 2025 and support our carbon neutrality by 2030. This role is a unique opportunity to gain a wide range of exposure to corporate renewable energy procurement; the successful Candidate will work on everything from presentations for senior leadership, to annual budgeting, to market analysis and data gathering. We are looking for a candidate who likes to roll-up-their-sleeves, take on a variety of tasks, and that will use critical thinking in solving challenges.

We are looking for a Candidate with solid wholesale energy markets understanding, solid analytical skills, effective communication, and enjoys working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Procurement support: Assist procurement team:

* Assist tracking the renewable energy procurement pipeline and support preparation of reports/presentations on pipeline status.
* Perform project due diligence, support preparation of approval documentation and materials.
* Support onboarding of prospective and selected renewable energy suppliers.
* Provide deal negotiation support

Portfolio management support: Post-contracting documentation and contract management:

* Support the development of analytics and management tools to optimize the renewable energy portfolio.
* Perform contract management duties including invoice verification and approval, budget performance review and managing internal processes (eg creating purchase orders)
* Renewable energy credit tracking and reconciliation for company's renewable energy goals
* Work collaboratively to improve and streamline processes for onboarding of new contracts, including the creation and implementation of Microsoft tools and templates.

Knowledge, experience, and skills:

* Bachelor's degree in economics, finance, business administration, engineering, sustainability, or related field. Equivalent work experience will also be considered.
* Proficiency with MS Excel and other MS Office suite products
* Strong analytical capabilities and attention to detail to support review and interpretation of renewable energy contracts and financial models
* Proactive team player with high emotional intelligence capable of adapting to ambiguous environments with cross-group collaboration and problem-solving abilities
* Growth mindset with problem-solving skills
* Ability to relocate to Redmond, WA area

Preferred, Not Required

* Post-graduate degree in relevant a field is a plus, though experience in consulting and power/energy industries may substitute for relevant graduate education in this regard
* 3+ years of experience in the energy sector with exposure to wholesale and retail power marketsor renewable energy
