Overview

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position requires developing fully executed model homes from conception to installation. The position requires an ability to be multi-task oriented, self-sufficient, dependable, ability to cope under pressure, maintain good judgement, eager to learn and have a professional, supportive attitude.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Develop conceptual design presentations and have the ability to take a project from conception to completion.
* Complete CAD drawings (including space plans, specifications and elevation details) for Welcome Home Centers and In-House Model Home projects
* Assist in the specification and purchasing efforts for In-House Model furniture as requested by the Merchandising Manager and Director
* Attend Design Presentation meetings, frame walks and final model walks
* Purchase, track and maintain inventory of Model Furniture
* Assist in managing vendor invoices for processing and payment
* Assist Merchandising Manager and Director on special design projects as necessary
* Manage project costs and provide final budgets to Merchandising Manager
* Coordinate delivery and installation schedules of Model Furniture
* Attend model installations
* Stay abreast of current design trends and practices; attend industry trade shows as needed

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

* Must possess initiative and be highly motivated
* Bachelor of Arts degree preferred
* Interior Design background preferred
* Proficient in CAD, Photoshop, In-Design, Excel, Word and PowerPoint on Macintosh platform
* Basic understanding of California Building and ADA codes preferred
* Experience with purchasing and/or accounting preferred
* Strong organizational skills, detail oriented and ability manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
* Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining a professional attitude
* Maintain regular attendance and punctuality relative to daily work schedule is required
* Strong work ethic, good communication and interpersonal skills
* Copes well under pressure and can accept constructive feedback
* California Motor Vehicle License unrestricted. Moderate Regional travel (including overnight trips and flights) may be required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Position requires the ability to occasionally bend, stoop, reach, lift, move and carry office materials and supplies weighing 25 pounds or less. Finger dexterity is required to operate a computer keyboard.
