Overview

Summary of Position Requirements

The Construction Scheduling Manager is responsible for the impact of trade partner work quality and adherence to construction schedules on profitability across communities in the Division.

Responsibilities

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

* Manage impact of trade partners on profitability
* Manage and monitor trade partner work quality and adherence to schedules on a macro level across communities
* Independently analyze construction managers field audits to ensure effectiveness of 200+ homes scheduling process
* Develop procedures to address trade partners who are not performing tasks in accordance with standards
* Independently analyze construction managers field audits to verify quality of 50+ trade partners work
* Provide reporting metrics addressing performance of 50+ trade partners across communities
* Provide real-time scheduling guidance and communicate delays to trade partners and construction team
* Develop procedures for documenting and reporting delays
* Monitor and analyze BuildPro and SupplyPro data while taking pro-active measures to ensure Division compliance
* Support, trouble-shoot, and maintain BuildPro and SupplyPro systems
* Coordinate and monitor construction activities and resource allocation to ensure profitability of projects
* Make recommendations to director of construction about resource procurement
* Make decisions on vendor contract renewals with trade partners in partnership with Purchasing department
* Responsible for the daily management of at least two Purchasing Expeditors including distribution of work, performance management and hiring/termination decisions
* Lead, coach, mentor and manage individuals and team to ensure top performance of all team members in achieving desired results while finding efficient and effective solutions that create overall organizational value

Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements

* Minimum high school diploma or equivalent required, some college preferred
* Minimum 2 years experience in construction industry
* Must have had experience as a construction manager or equivalent job
* Must possess professional attitude to represent the company in a positive manner
* Valid Drivers License with good driving record
* Valid Auto insurance coverage
* Advanced PC skills Microsoft Word, Excel, and JD Edwards
* Excellent follow-up, communication (written and verbal) and time management skills
* Able to simultaneously perform multiple detail-oriented tasks with little oversight
