Job Description:
Plans, schedules, coordinates and/or monitors final approval of products through the complete production cycle to meet production requirements. Works from engineering plans and production specifications to ensure materials are provided according to schedules. Advises management of the status of work in progress, coordinates with Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain and interfaces with Engineering and Program Management, as well as, external customers and suppliers. Ensures availability of materials to meet production requirements and delivery commitments. Works to resolve material shortages, backlogs and other potential schedule interruptions.
Essential Functions:
* Monitor and report status on cost, schedule and deliveries
* Experience with MRP/ERP tools and supply and demand principles
* Interface with Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Finance, Quality, and Material Management to support on time delivery
* Strategize, implement, and maintain program initiatives that adhere to organizational objectives
* Contributes to achievement of departmental goals and operating plans with direct impact on departmental results
* Coordinate with vendors to identify opportunities and solutions and provide issue resolution to support program on-time delivery needs
* Provide concise reports to management on status, potential issues, risks, and solution recommendations
* Self-starter with strong critical thinking skills who possesses the ability to work independently or in a group setting
* Demonstrated ability to progress in uncertain environments
* Strong leadership, time management, facilitation, and organizational skills
* Advanced customer service skills
* Strong written and oral communication skills
* Advanced computer skills, especially with Microsoft Excel, Word, Project and PowerPoint
Qualifications:
* Active DOD Secret Clearance
* Bachelor's Degree
* Minimum of 6 years production planning experience
* Minimum of 4 years professional experience in a Production Planning MRP environment
Preferred Additional Skills:
* Emphasis in Operations Management degree highly preferred
* Production Planning experience in a DoD Prime or Subprime contractor company
