The Hartfords HIMCO & Corporate IT organization is seeking a highly motivated AWS Cloud Operations Support Lead to lead efforts to transform / migrate our on premise platforms to AWS as well as administer / manage already deployed AWS services. You must demonstrate strong leadership skills, proficiency in working in a matrix technical environment, excellent technical acumen, proven experience in delivering quality solutions as well as clearly demonstrated ability in setting and executing on a strategic vision. Coaching and mentoring of teammates new to AWS is key.

Responsibilities:

* Lead and provide directions to the vendor team during a critical incident
* Provide technical leadership and safeguard the integrity of the application cloud and on-prem environments within their purview
* Oversight of Production Stability in terms of impacts from changes released by the maintenance and invest project teams, as well as infrastructure & configuration impacts
* Oversee application quality and integrity when critical production issues arise, ensuring proper communication with infrastructure and application technical support teams
* Business communications for production issues
* Design, develop, administer, and support cloud based solutions in AWS that are scalable, highly available, and easily maintainable
* Design, build, manage and operate the infrastructure and configuration of SaaS applications with a focus on automation and infrastructure as code
* Mentor junior team members

Requirements:

* 4+ years of hands-on experience working with AWS core services and deploying, and administering cloud based solutions
* Authorization to work in the US without sponsorship, now and in the future.
* 2+ years of experience with alerting and monitoring tools
* Experience with infrastructure as Code and Configuration Management tools
* Systematic problem-solving approach, combined with a strong sense of ownership and drive
* Strong experience with at-least one relational databases: Oracle, SQLServer, PostgreSQL

Desirable skills:

* Configuration management frameworks (e.g. Chef, Puppet)
* Automation tools/platforms
* Terraform
* Advanced AWS Cloud Certification
* Programming Languages: SQL, and PL/SQL
* AWS: SQS, SNS

Technical Skills used in Role:

* AWS: S3, RDS, Lambda, APIGateway, CloudWatch, IAM, KMS
