Job Description

Job Title: Sr. Production Group Leader

Responsible for production activity at the department level. Work involves leading and motivating Teams to full Global Manufacturing Systems (GMS) execution.

This is a 7th level promotional opportunity.

Description:

The Sr. Production Group Leader will be responsible for managing medium to large work teams in a fast paced, manufacturing environment. The Sr. Production Group Leader is responsible for team safety; building and motivating teams; delivering quality to the customers. Coach and mentor to the team to cultivate behaviors that build a culture focused on safety, people, quality.

Roles & Responsibilities:

* Promote safe work practices and achieve objectives for ergonomics, health and safety and housekeeping. Motivates, trains and develops employees to effectively perform their jobs utilizing standardized methods
* Create a highly engaged team
* Coach and mentor production group leaders
* Lead Business, Plan, Deploy (BPD) and BIQ IV initiatives
* Supervise medium/large team in production environment
* Ensure team members receive adequate JIT (job instruction training)
* Responsible for ensuring proper training, development and evaluation of team members to promote highly effective teams.
* Lead Global Manufacturing Systems processes and serve as a resource supporting launch and pilot activities
* Improve the body shop operations through problem solving and continuous improvement initiatives
* Maintain a good working relationship and communicate across all team members and departments
* Achieve Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness, Cost, Environment key performance indicators supporting the BPD.
* Meet first time quality metrics and Built in Quality (BIQ) IV requirements
* Complete administrative tasks such as timekeeping and maintains departmental records and reports.
* Meet production cost schedules by supporting Productions ability to Build in Station.

Required Qualifications:

* Ability to work any shift and overtime as required
* Production group leader experience

* Excellent organization, written and oral communication skills
* Experience/knowledge of GM Global Manufacturing System (GMS)
* Strong interpersonal skills
* Ability to handle multiple priorities
* Ability to coach/mentor/develop team members

Preferred Qualifications

* Bachelors degree in Manufacturing or equivalent experience
* Experience in BIQ IV environment
