Job Description



Manages non-routine clinical study contract finance processes.
Assists in the management of the day-to-day activities of multiple areas in moderately complex clinical contracts and finance.
May manage all contract needs for a clinical program, and will analyze and interpret requests for specialized agreements, including those from foreign sites, specialized vendors as well as collaborative agreements with other bio/pharma corporate partners.
May focus on either contracts or finance or both areas based on business need.
Participates in establishing departmental and cross functional policies and procedures.
Assists junior Development Business Ops staff working on contracts in resolving moderately complex issues relating to contract negotiation or management.
Mentors and assists in training junior Development Business Ops staff in contract budgeting, development and administration.
Assists in the development of spreadsheets and tracking tools that are useful when organizing and conducting regular budget review meetings with senior clinical staff.
Assists with vendor relationship management in conjunction with the Clinical Operations, Bioanalytical Chemistry or Biometrics groups.
Works with senior staff regarding requests for information and analysis.
Works with internal customers in vendor bidding and proposal development (RFP creation and analysis).
Assists with management of Vendor bid defense meetings.
With support of internal customers and the Legal department, manages the contract negotiation process, especially in more complex, or high value contracts.
Assists management with contract life cycle management process related to vendor government, and collaborative agreements.
Demonstrates excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Demonstrates clear understanding of the clinical development process and associated regulations.
Demonstrates all skills of a Clinical Contracts and Finance Associate II.
Demonstrates ability to work under pressure with rapid and accurate turn-around timelines, especially while managing multiple, constantly changing priorities.
Demonstrates a general knowledge and understanding of accepted accounting procedures.
Completes tasks and projects with moderate direction from supervisor.
Travel may be required.

Requirements

6+ years of experience with a BA in a relevant discipline.
4+ years of experience with a MS/MBA in a relevant discipline.
Relevant experience typically includes contract negotiation and/or clinical finance
