Job Description
The Archives Senior Manager position provides overall leadership for the Corporate Archives. This role is responsible for the management and expansion of the historical collections of The Coca-Cola Company, for curating information from the archives to address business requests, for sharing the companys history through a variety of activities (including Archives tours and presentations), and for the development of programs/exhibitions to support the broader business as needed. Given the breadth of the role, this individual will collaborate with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders including executive leadership, media, high profile visitors, key customers/business partners and company associates from around the world.
Key Duties:
* Manage the collection, documentation, storage and conservation of the Company's archives (over 100,000 items including artifacts, audiovisual materials, historical documents, paintings and memorabilia)
* Curate information and assets to respond to business needs. Output may range from simple documented or verbal answers to guided tours/discussions to development of presentations, exhibits or other materials. Project timing typically ranges from immediate to 12-18 months, and projects may be for both internal and external audiences.
* Serve as a Company spokesperson on issues relating to our heritage to a variety of internal and external audiences (including media)
* As needed, refine the departmental strategy including acquisitions philosophy and initiative prioritization
* Manage the departmental activities including budget administration, supervision of 2 associates and management of the digital asset management system
* Collaborate with Coca-Cola Collectors Club President and members.
Qualifications:
* Required: Bachelors degree, 7-10 years of experience and following demonstrated capabilities
* Experience managing archival collections including audio-visual materials, electronic records, museum materials and large paper collections
* Solid experience in determining the ongoing development/direction of historical collections
* Strong presentation and communication skills including media experience
* Strong skills with digital asset management systems
* Ability to manage budgets and contractors
* Preferred: Advanced degree (e.g., Masters degree preferred in MLIS or History), 10+ years of experience and following additional demonstrated capabilities
* Experience in designing and fabricating permanent and travelling exhibits
* Experience with storytelling and/or marketing
* Strong brand management experience and/or instincts
* International experience
