SCHEDULE: Full-time

Phlebotomist

Responsible for collecting human biological samples, completing proper requisition forms, and preparing specimens for transport to a licensed laboratory.

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to: Performs venipuncture on patients, using special handling procedures, assuring specimens are of the proper type. Receives and responds to incoming phone calls. Completes Patient Test Requisition forms with correct patient demographic information and appropriate information for billing purposes. Maintains phlebotomy log. Records receipt of test results and follows up with laboratory on outstanding tests results. Maintains an appropriate quantity of phlebotomy supplies. Uses the laboratory computer system to retrieve procedural information on specimen handling, test codes, results.

Qualifications

Requirements:

Required:

- Phlebotomy certification required
- Bilingual: English and Spanish
- Recent experience drawing blood
- Requires a high school diploma; 1 year of experience as a phlebotomist; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

Preferred:

- Medical Assistant Certification
