Northrop Grumman Mission Systems in Sykesville, Maryland is seeking an Industrial Engineer. The Industrial Engineer will work closely with the Operations Program Management (OPM), Manufacturing Engineering, and Cell Management organizations, on monitoring, organizing, and improving the flow of product through the manufacturing process in support of both internal and external customer delivery requirements.

Responsibilities will include:

**Analyzes and designs sequence of operations and work flow to improve efficiencies in plant and production facilities and equipment layouts.
**Establishes methods for maximum utilization of production facilities and personnel.
**May establish or assist in establishing accident prevention measures and may manage training programs for personnel concerning all phases of production operations.
**Conducts studies pertaining to cost control, cost reduction, inventory control, and production record systems. On the basis of these studies, develops and implements plans and programs for facility modifications and revisions to operating methods.
**May assist facilities engineers in the planning and design of facilities.
**Develops and maintains applications to assist in the acquiring, tracking, and analytics of data pertaining to various processes within the manufacturing operation.
**Originates or assists with origination and completion of Basis of Estimates for future proposals.
**Manages and maintains continuous improvement (iCards) program.

This job may be filled as an Engineer or a Principal Engineer depending on the qualifications below.

Qualification

Basic Qualifications for an Engineer:
**Bachelor rsquo;s degree or higher in a STEM major plus 2 years of relevant experience (0 years with a Master 39;s)
**Experience in a manufacturing environment

Basic Qualifications for a Principal Engineer:
**Bachelor rsquo;s degree or higher in a STEM major plus 5 years of relevant experience (3 years with a Master 39;s)
**Experience in a manufacturing environment

Preferred Qualifications:
**Experience with data acquisition and analysis
**VBA experience with Microsoft office applications.
**Experience writing Structured Query Language (SQL) to create queries with Oracle databases
**SAP experience
**Lean, Six Sigma principles
**TABLEAU experience
**AutoCAD
**Process routing / work standards creation
