Northrop Grumman Space Components has an opening for a Maintenance Technician 1 2nd shift to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Commerce, CA.
Responsibilities:
bull; Uses a variety of hand/power tools, and shop equipment.
bull; Performs repairs and maintenance in plant or office facilities, or on machines and equipment.
bull; Typically performs work in one or more of the maintenance trades: carpentry, plumbing, painting, machine and equipment repair, electrical, sheet metal fabrication and HVAC.
bull; Conducts routine, periodic, or special inspections to determine repair and maintenance work necessary to prevent breakdowns of facilities, machinery, and equipment.
bull; Uses tests, inspects, troubleshoots, and repairs machines and equipment.
bull; Uses blueprints, sketches, layouts, wiring diagrams, drawings, and specifications.
bull; Maintain and repair plumbing, electrical, soft soldering and brazing of various metals and pipefitting; perform minor electrical installations and operate and troubleshoot chillers
bull; Perform mechanical and electrical repairs and maintenance to the buildings; preventative maintenance on fan coils, air handling units, compressors, autoclaves, ovens and plant machinery and equipment
bull; Various small odd jobs, minor pipe repairs, and installations of air, vacuum, and drainage systems; drive company vans, trucks or cars to load, haul and move equipment
bull; Complete Facilities Service Requests as assigned by Department Manager
bull; Responsible for observing all laws, codes, federal, state and local regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company;
bull; Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.
Qualification
Basic Qualifications:
bull; High School diploma or equivalent and 2 years additional education and/or related experience in Facilities Maintenance
bull; Basic knowledge of computer operations and applications pertinent to the maintenance field
bull; Troubleshooting / repairing machinery and equipment
bull; Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
bull; Good interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to work with all levels of personnel, including management and outside vendors and to accurately communicate, document and report.
bull; Good analytical ability to recognize deviations from accepted practice
bull; Ability to work from heights (ladders, scaffold, lifts)
bull; U.S. Citizenship required
bull; Valid driver 39;s license
bull; Ability to install and uninstall (lift) devices weighing 50 pounds
Preferred Qualifications:
bull; Preventive maintenance database experience
bull; Ability to perform HVAC/ Refrigeration and electrician work and or another relevant field of work
bull; Carpentry (rough and or finish), furniture repair
bull; Drywall installation and repair
bull; Painting and striping
bull; Installation and repair of door hardware
bull; Boom lift, forklift and scissor lift experience
bull; Pallet jack (manual and motorized)
