Our work depends on a Technical Writer joining our team to support the Quality Measures and Information Reporting (QMIR) Program. This is a remote based role.

In this role, a typical day will include:

* Research and compile technical data for use in various operation and maintenance manuals, training materials, installation guides, and other technical documentation.
* Obtain data from review of documentation, interviews with client and project personnel (SME's), drawings, schematics, reports, and the study of published material. Research and gather technical and background information for inclusion in project documentation and deliverables.
* Develop outlines and drafts for review and approval by technical specialists and stakeholders ensuring that final documents meet applicable contract requirements and regulations.
* Translate technical information into clear, readable documentation to be used by both technical and non-technical users. Documentation includes: technical documents, business proposals, reports, user manuals, briefings and presentations, functional descriptions, system specifications, guidelines, special reports, and other project deliverables to meet contract requirements.
* May provide proofread and provide feedback on materials prepared by peers.
* Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

* Bachelors Degree in a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, professional training, and work experience.
* 3+ years of related experience preparing technical documentation.
* Must have effective written communications skills including formatting and grammar.
* Comprehensive knowledge of the principles and practices involved in technical research and writing.
* Knowledge of and ability to use various word-processing and/or desktop publishing software applications.
* Familiarity with remediation of technical documentation to comply with accessibility standards such as 508 compliance.

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
* Experience with a human-centered design approach is a plus.
* Experience/background within the healthcare industry and/or government contracting is desirable.
* Familiarity with agile approaches such as scrum and SAFe are highly desired.

The likely salary range for this position is $50,400 - $75,600, this is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary; rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
