JOB DESCRIPTION

GDIT is seeking a qualified candidate to serve as DoDAF Systems Engineer to support the Design, Development, Engineering, Integration, Testing and Implementation of critical technologies for our customers. We use a Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) approach to coordinate the work of multiple engineering teams, using a full complement of DoDAF viewpoints to document systems design.

As a DoDAF Systems Engineer, the candidate will work closely with a team of dedicated multi-disciplined professionals to support customer mission objectives. You will provide support for adding new capabilities to a complex system with exacting interface, performance and security requirements. The selected candidate will provide system engineering expertise to understand user requirements, and system architecture to develop system architecture and system design documentation.

Responsibilities include supporting and providing guidance for system development and implementation planning through assessment of system engineering plans and system integration and test plans. He/she will support and contribute to the development of system engineering documentation using DoDAF architectures that codify system design and lifecycle sustainment

You'll be responsible for working with coworkers, partners, stakeholders and customer representatives to create artifacts to support Development & Engineering projects to deliver next-generation technologies across a wide-range of services and emerging capabilities, culminating in the delivery of unparalleled services that enhance customer mission effectiveness.

* Participate in architectural and design discussions as they pertain to Future State, Concepts, and planned or active Development & Engineering projects
* Participating in strategic engagements and events, as required
* Brief stakeholders on planned and active projects and activities

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
* Must have substantive experience with Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF) documenting As-Is and To-Be designs
* Must have Demonstrated experience in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
* Must have at least three (3) years of experience designing and developing large integrated systems
* Must possess a solid understanding of secure systems engineering and development.
* Must be comfortable working on multiple systems and components simultaneously in various configurations
* Must be efficient and effective at performing systems engineering activities in support of agile teams
* Must have strong verbal and written communications skills
* Must be committed to adopting and adhering to best practices
* Must have System Modeling Language (SysML) or equivalent experience
* Must be able to effectively plan and prioritize tasking and communicate clearly regarding technical options and trade-offs
* Must be capable of performing high quality work both independently and with a team, in a fast-moving environment
* Must have the ability to interpret Engineering designs and translate into DoDAF drawings

Desired Experience
* Experience and working knowledge of Cloud-based technologies and service delivery models
* Strong knowledge of IT Development, Engineering, Integration & Testing processes
* Experience managing enterprise networks, network devices and cybersecurity core services

Security Requirements
* Must have a SECRET clearance with the ability to obtain an SCI (TS/SCI)

Work Environment
* Work environment is remote as well as administrative office, when required

Certification Requirements
* DoD 8570 IAT-2 or higher (Sec+ CE or higher) compliance required

Education, Certification and Experience Requirements
* Bachelor's Degree in related IT discipline plus 5 years related IT systems experience/exposure
* Or
* Equivalent years' experience to a degree plus 5 years related IT systems experience/exposure
* Documented DoDAF Training and/or certification
* Must pass a background check prior to hiring
