Position Responsibilities:

* Mammalian protein expression in shake flasks using both transient transfection and stable cell lines (Expi293, ExpiCHO and CHO-S)
* Generation of stable pools for protein expression
* Operation and monitoring of stir-tank as well as wave-bag bioreactors (3L-50L). Sampling for analysis of nutrients and dissolved gasses in culture media
* Harvest of cell culture using filtration and centrifugation
* Execute automated methods for transient protein expression. Assist in method development experiments for OpenTron, Janus and Biomek Liquid Handlers
* Routine maintenance and cell banking of HEK and CHO cells
* Ensure accurate registration of protein lots and associated data into LIMS.
* Maintain a complete and current Electronic Laboratory Notebook.

Qualifications:

* Candidate should have a B.S. in Biology, Engineering or a related field with 1 to 5+ years of relevant experience in an industry setting
* Experience with Mammalian cell culture is required
* Prior experience with stable cell line/pool development, bioreactor operation and harvesting procedures such as TFF and/or depth filtration would be an advantage
* Desire to operate automation systems and develop methods would also provide an advantage
* Experience with LIMS and ELN is highly desirable
* Excellent time management skills and a demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills along with a sense of urgency and ability to work under tight deadlines
* Must be detail oriented
* Basic protein characterization experience, such as, SDS-PAGE _ Preferred
