The Role
We are transforming technology and creating a digital evolution that will empower Centene to better serve our members. The Sr. Full Stack Java Developer (New Technologies) has the opportunity to work on a brand new Capitation payments team within Centene Technologies.







As a Sr. Full Stack Java Developer (New Technologies) you will:



t
* Design, build, test and maintain scalable and stable off the shelf application or custom built technology solutions to meet business needs.
t
* Act as a subject matter expert for Application Software developers and Engineers.
t
* Contribute to the entire implementation process including driving the definition of improvements based on business need and architectural improvements
t
* Meet with business partners to understand business needs
t
* Responsible for overall design of the solution
t
* Design, build and test applications
t
* Function as a scrum team member, with significant experience working as a developer in an agile environment.
t
* Understand upstream and downstream applications to the dependencies.
t
* Production support: Apply hot fix, perform root cause analysis, permanent fix and promote to prod after UAT.
t
* Open to learn new technologies to be able to build and support Cloud applications like AWS.
t
* Researches and evaluates alternative solutions and recommends the most efficient and cost-effective solution for a new or existing design
t
* Handles and triages application issue escalations as well as able to liaise with clients / operations
t
* Provide support to functional and performance Test teams as part of each agile sprint
t
* Provide production support as necessary
t
* Create documentation in the form of quick reference guide







Additionally, you'll bring:



t
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, related field or equivalent experience.
t
* 3+ years of related experience.
t
* Requires demonstrated understanding of business process as it relates to experience in the field.
t
* Strong working knowledge of Java, JSP, Supertool, PL/SQL, UNIX shell scripting, etc.
t
* Strong working knowledge of Java, J2EE
t
* Experience with Oracle or SQL Server.
t
* Experience with web services, messaging, and stored procedures preferred
t
* Experience with Health Care applications development and design is preferred.









Preferred Experience:



t
* Hands-on DevOps experience using tools like Git, BitBucket, Cloud bees/Jenkins, Maven
t
* Strong experience in developing, refactoring and re-engineering web applications using REST, Spring/Spring Boot, Hibernate, React JS, Handlebars, JSP, JSON, XML and Html
t
* Experience using PL/SQL and Oracle database; Mongo DB and PostgreSQL, SQL tuning experience is a plus
t
* Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix operating system and shell scripting
t
* Knowledge on cloud development like Kubernetes, message processing using Kafka topics, CI/CD pipeline, Docker Container Platform is an advantage
t
* Knowledge on job/ MicroService monitoring using Grafana, Kibana is preferred
t
* Experience with scheduling tools such as control M is preferred
t
* Knowledge on AWS Architect Associate and/or AWS Developer associate topics
t
* Able to demonstrate capabilities in the following disciplines: Object oriented design patterns; Front-end web UI-tier; Container technologies; Cloud native technologies and Data Modeling
