Essential duties & responsibilities:
* With guidance from the Director of Workplace Practices (HDRM), develops HR policies and processes with regard to the hiring and departure of employees. Responsible for researching best practices and legal requirements for these policies and ensuring that policies and practices align with Talent Acquisition, the business, and legal.
* Implement and execute Strykers Company-wide HR Risk Assessment tool and program.
* Provide independent guidance and expertise to business-facing HR, legal and other HR COEs on the interpretation of hiring and departure policies, contingent labor issues, compliance issues pertaining to recruiting, severance and termination.
* Maintain and implement in an independent fashion Strykers severance standard.
* Guide the business through various issues and situations pertaining to reductions in force and structural business reorganizations.
* Provide expert advice and support for the integration of acquired companies, including managing confirmatory letters, application of Stryker policies, former employee review, contingent labor review, I-9 and background check completion, and RIFs arising from integrations.
* Direct the Companys preboarding processes, including policies and procedures relating to drug screens and background checks.
* Serve as escalation point for all questions on hiring, departure and risk management coming from HR Operations or business-facing HR.
* Lead the Companys response to HR-related government audits including OFCCP, LSAS and I-9 audits.
* Support activities for the Workplace Practices function, including assisting all aspects of litigation in employment/HR related cases.
* Develop and maintain Workplace Practices dashboard metrics and reporting.
* Workplace Practices Process Improvement projects.
* Additional tasks as required.
Education & special trainings:
* B.A. or B.S. from an accredited university required.
Qualifications & experience:
* 6+ years experience in Human Resources required (7+ years experience in Human Resources preferred).
* Experience in HR Compliance and/or HR Ops preferred, including in pre-boarding and onboarding, background checks, government audits, risk management or AAPs.
