Senior Data Engineer, Legal & Corporate Affairs

Location: Atlanta, Chicago, Seattle/Bellevue (only). No relocation.

Salesforce's Legal & Corporate Affairs Data Science team is looking for a Senior Data Engineer to develop tools and technologies to help the Legal & Corporate Affairs team achieve extraordinary value with Salesforce. We are looking for someone to join our team to work on massive structured, unstructured, transactional data sets from a variety of sources.

The Data Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and documenting data pipelines related to data transformation and analytics projects. This role provides an opportunity to work closely with cross functional teams. A successful candidate should have a strong interest in data warehousing, data discovery, and analytics.
The Data Engineer will work with the Internal Audit team in their Journey of Data Transformation.

In detail you will:

* Build ETL pipelines with SQL based technologies and platforms.

* Solid understanding of databases, and working with complex datasets.

* Data governance, verification and data documentation using current tools and future adopted tools and platform.

* Work with different technologies (Python, shell scripts) and translate logic into well-performing SQL.

* Perform tasks such as writing scripts, web scraping, getting data from APIs etc.

* Develop data products on SQL (Oracle) and Python.

* Automate data pipelines using scheduling tools like Airflow.

* Be prepared for changes in business direction and understand when to adjust designs.

* Design, develop and custom Salesforce objects for cross-functional teams.

* Demonstrate operational excellence and strong can-do attitude.

Required Experience and Skills:

* Bachelor or Masters degree in Computer Science or equivalent engineering degree.

* At least 2 years of expert experience with SQL.

* Experience writing production level SQL code and good understanding of Data Engineering pipelines.

* MuleSoft integration skills to extract data from different systems.

* Strong skills working with very large data sets with open source tools, dealing with performance and scaling issues.

* 2+ years of Python development experience using Pandas.

* Experience with Hadoop ecosystem and similar frameworks.

* Ability to work effectively in an unstructured and fast-paced environment both independently and in a team setting, with a high degree of self-management.

* Strong problem solving with acute attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines and project plans.

* Familiarity with Scrum/Agile project management methodologies.

* Comfortable working in a dynamic, with several ongoing concurrent projects.

* Strong verbal and written communication skills as well as excellent presentation skills.
