Job Details
This position reports to VP, US income tax reporting and operations. This role will be responsible for all aspects of the U.S income tax compliance including a focus on transforming the tax compliance function for salesforce. This position will also work closely with the Global Tax Provision team during the financial close and will assist with forecasts.
Our ideal candidate is a highly motivated, self-starter with a background focused in US income tax compliance and provision, and has a beginners mind to re-imagine and design our compliance function to scale for growth.
The job duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Responsibilities:
* Manage day-to-day operations relating to U.S. federal and state tax returns preparation and filing. Manage and lead a team (US and non-US teams) for accurate and timely compliance of tax returns, estimates and extensions. Ensure adequate tax return support and documentation and preparedness for future tax audits. Explain return to provision differences. Work with International tax team and other teams on relevant book tax differences or other provisions that impact US taxable income
* Monitor non-standard transactions. Liaise with external advisors and internal teams to resolve tax compliance issues, including complex matters related to acquisitions
* Understand and analyze tax return information. Work with Global tax and insurance operations and technology team to develop insightful analytics. Communicate observations and results to senior tax management
* Advise and drive transformation of our U.S. compliance function to scale for growth, which includes people development, process and workpapers simplification and standardization, and effective use of data and technology.
* Involve in the quarterly and annual income tax provision process. Responsibilities include, but not limited to, estimate taxable income, reconcile cumulative temporary differences to year end balances and attributes carryover, manage uncertain tax positions etc.
* Build collaborative relationships across the company
Required skills/experience:
* Minimum 12 years of related tax experience in a multinational company
* Demonstrate extensive federal and state corporate tax knowledge. Able to identify issues, analyze and interpret relevant tax laws when handling complex subject matters. Experience in M&A taxation is a plus
* Solid general accounting knowledge and familiar with accounting principles such as ASC740 and ASC 718
* Excellent management and leadership skills, with the ability to leverage, coach and motivate talent to inspire action and achieve results
* Detailed oriented and strong analytical skills
* Experience in financial systems (i.e. Oracle, Hyperion, Smartview, data warehouse, etc.) and CORPTax compliance and provision is highly desirable
* Strong written and oral communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills and a proven ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline driven environment
* Strong project management skills combined with interest and experience in process improvement and efficiency
* Results driven with high level of initiative, teamwork, urgency, accountability and integrity
* Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance; MST/CPA preferred
